Have you understood all these couplets in Three Sides and Seven Alleys?

There are many people who travel through the three alleys and seven alleys every day, but only a handful of people can really understand the couplets in front of the stone archway. Xiaobian is only a little knowledgeable and many couplets can't recognize them! Being uneducated is really terrible! Today, Xiaobian and everyone are serious about literacy.

Nanhou Street archway

There are four pairs of couplets on the front and back of this archway.

On the face of Chaoyangqiao Road, the middle pair was written by Guo Daojian and Chen Fenwu, the chairman of the Provincial Calligraphy Association (the font is cursive):

The spring breeze is blowing in the benevolence, and you can see that the brocade floor is endless.

The wide road is full of ancient rhyme, and the pair next to it is Ke Yunhan. When I went to the book market, I didn't see enough fun. " Sentences in poetry. What this Guangzhou poet described is that Nanhou Street is the concentrated place of Fuzhou ancient book shops. Many ancient book shops buy and sell rare books, rare books, antique books and calligraphy and painting by celebrities of past dynasties. Like Liulichang in Beijing, they have become places frequented by local and foreign celebrities and scholars. It is said that in modern times, Gu Jiegang, Yu Dafu, Zheng Zhenduo, Xie Bingxin, etc., as long as they are in Fuzhou, they all like to visit the bookstore in Nanhou Street and buy old and rare books.

On the opposite side of the archway are two other couplets jointly created by well-known scholars and calligraphers Chen Zhanghan, Zhao Yulin, Guo Daojian and Ke Yunhan:

The area with the same name for literature and things, which records that the pen once went to other States, and the old store with books

People are happy and prosperous, and the lights are lit to welcome the lantern festival, and the tower shows the Mid-Autumn Festival

\

The city opens Fujian and Vietnam. On the doorpost, there are couplets written by Zhuo Binqing and Chen Zhushu (in block letters):

Learn autumn lights in class, the sound of books is loud in the alley

Wen Shichun drinks, and the bold words move the elm

This couplet is about the strong reading atmosphere in Langguan Lane. Students study hard at the cold window, and the sound of books resounds through Langguan Lane. After reading, students will get together to drink and fight poems, and reprimand Fang Qiu for his lofty aspirations. The word "Yu Yu" in the last sentence originally refers to hometown, which can be understood as that the students' heroism is enough to shake the elders in the village. Langguan Lane, which is connected to Nanhou Street in the east, is a winding street, with Yangqiao Road in the north and Tower Lane in the south. Its original length ranks first among the three lanes and seven lanes, with only over 1 meters left today. In the Song Dynasty, Liu Tao's family lived here for generations, which made "Lang Guan" a lane name. Mr. Yan Fu spent the last period of his life here. Lin Xu, a reformist, walked out of Langguan Lane at the age of 17 and died heroically at Caishikou, Beijing at the age of 24. He was honored as one of the "Six Gentlemen of the Reform Movement of 1898" because he actively ran for the national destiny.

stone archway in tower lane

There is a hexagonal tower shape on the top of the pavilion cover, as well as cornices and other components. Carved on the doorpost by Lin Shan and Fu Yongqiang (the font is seal script):

Six sons graduated from science, Neo-Confucianism merged into heaven and earth

Shuangmei explored the house, and the writing candle was written in ancient and modern times

It is said that "Six sons graduated from science" contains a past, and Chen Chengqiu's wife, Lin, gave birth to six men and one woman, including his eldest son and the last "imperial teacher" in China. Although the fifth brother died in his childhood, the remaining five brothers and the son of Zhang Shengsheng, the side room of Chen Chengqiu, got the national famous plaque of "Six sons' Family A". "Shuangmei Tanwu" means Ermei Bookstore. This bookstore was the former residence of Hanlin and Lin Xingzhang in Qing Dynasty. Because there were two plum blossoms planted in front of the house, it was named "Ermei Bookstore". "Neo-Confucianism" is opposed to "writing", which means learning and writing. "Candle" as a lighting explanation.

stone archway in Huangxiang

This archway is composed of pavilion cover, cornices, Bucket arch and other components, and the top is shaped like a bird's tail. Written by Lu Weifeng and written by Jiang Pingchou (font is running script):

Kejia was reelected, and Luofudi, a humanistic place in Haiao, became famous. When Rongyuan was only looking forward to the Qing Dynasty,

"Kejia was reelected" in Lianzhong refers to the imperial examination high school year after year, and "Haiao" refers to the mountainous seaside, which means Fujian. "Rongyuan" is interpreted as Fuzhou City, and "Qing Dynasty" means contemporary. Huangxiang originated in Jin Dynasty. There is a saying that "Chen Lin spends half a day in Fujian", but there is only "Huang Xiang" in the three lanes and seven lanes, but not "Chen Xiang" or "Lin Xiang", because the gentry of the Central Plains moved south to Fujian in the Jin Dynasty, and some of the descendants of Huang lived here, studying and guarding the road, living in simplicity, which is awe-inspiring. Legend has it that Huang Chao, the leader of the rebel army at the end of the Tang Dynasty, attacked the city and pulled out the village. After passing through this lane, the torch was silenced, and Qiu did not commit any crime.

Anmin Lane stone archway

This archway has a drum-hugging stone, and the square name is engraved on the middle plaque. There are nine words written by Weng Shengxin and written by Yu Xianfeng on the doorpost (the font is cursive):

Stop at the post office, take care of your brother and defend the country

Take care of the provincial walls, and put up a list to protect the people

The previous sentence said that the office of the New Fourth Army was located in this lane, and it was described that they were loyal to their country in the anti-Japanese bonfire with "taking care of their brother and defending the country". The latter sentence refers to the allusions of Huang Chao's restraint on military forces and his people when he passed by. The "bridle" here refers to the chews and reins that control animals, and pulling means pulling.

Gongxiang stone archway

This archway has a pavilion cover, a drum-holding stone and a square name engraved on a plaque. There are 12 words written by Qiu Youxuan and written by Wu Naiguang on the column (font is running script):

Purple Pole worships Sanqing, the sun and the moon of the immortal family are extraordinary

Xing Wu left Jiadi, and the previous sentence of a brief edition of the ship administration

, "Purple Pole" refers to the Purple Pole Palace in the lane, and "Sanqing" refers to Taoism. In the last sentence, "Xing Wu" is the hometown of Shen Baozhen, and "Compendium" means history, which refers to the allusions devoted to ship administration during the Westernization Movement in Shen Baozhen. Gong Xiang, formerly known as Xianju Li, was renamed Gong Xiang in the Ming Dynasty because of the Purple Pole Palace in Song Dynasty. Shen Baozhen, a famous official in Fuzhou in the Qing Dynasty, once lived here.
