Jingyuan county has a long history and splendid culture. She is like a wonderful flower in the cradle of Chinese civilization. With its rich historical and cultural heritage and unique geographical and cultural landscape, she shows extraordinary momentum, gorgeous and quaint elegance. Tracing back to the activities of our ancestors, in the middle and late Neolithic Age, 5,000 years ago, human beings thrived on this ancient land, and many human living sites such as Baozi Mountain, Hongzuizi Mountain and Miaowa Mountain were discovered by archaeology, and a large number of pottery and stone tools were unearthed. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Jingyuan was the nomadic land of Qiang and Rong, and it preserved the typical cultural site of nomadic people from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period-Wujiachuan rock paintings. At the end of the Warring States period, it was the territory of Qin State, and it belonged to Beidi County after Qin unified China. In the third year of Ding Yuan, the Emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, Zuli and Qiuyin counties were established, which opened the Jingyuan county-level administrative system for more than 2 100 years. In the fifth year of Ding Yuan, Emperor Wudi traveled west to Zuli County and returned near the Yellow River. In the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Yu Wentai, the prime minister of the Western Wei Dynasty, led troops to join forces in Zuli County, which he gladly named Huizhou. After the Sui, Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, the territory was in a state of war for a long time. Trapped in Tubo at the end of Tang Dynasty, it was occupied by Xixia and Jin Dynasty in Song Dynasty. There are many migrations of state government, and the questions are easy to ask. In order to meet the needs of border defense, Wei was established in two years in Ming Dynasty, which became a military conflict zone between Ming Dynasty and North Yuan Mongolia. It was renamed Jingyuan Wei in the first year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty and Jingyuan County in the eighth year of Yongzheng. Since then, great changes have taken place in the administrative subordination, but the county name has been used to this day.
