After retirement, he was successively employed as a director of the Beijing Library Society, an ancient book collection consultant at Tsinghua University Library, and a thesis defense committee member of the Graduate School of Peking University. The libraries of eight universities, including National Normal University, Normal University, Normal University, and Agricultural University, held lectures on ancient book editions. At the same time, he also devoted himself to the creation of calligraphy and painting with great enthusiasm. His calligraphy and painting are rough and vigorous. His paintings are famous for the freehand flowers and birds of Kuchan school, and his calligraphy is famous for Cuan Baozi. He is good at painting large paintings, and his favorite paintings include goshawk, chick, wisteria, white plum, black bamboo, lotus, etc. In 1985, he held an art exhibition in Baoguzhai, Beijing. There are engraved stones of his works in Qujing Stele Forest in Yunnan, Kaifeng, and Hanyuan Stele Forest. Some works have been included in "The Sea of ??Ink" and so on. It is also collected by the Great Hall of the People, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, National Art Museum of China, National Library, Military Museum, Capital Library, Shougang, Baotou Steel, Benxi Iron and Steel, provincial and municipal cultural and historical centers, libraries, museums and other units.
Wei Yinru is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a member of the Beijing Artists Association, a director of the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Research Society, a member of the Beijing Federation of Social Science Societies, deputy editor-in-chief of the Editorial Committee of Chinese American Books, and Beijing Municipal Library Director of the Museum Society, vice president of the Beijing Cross-Strait Calligraphers and Painters Association, director of the Beijing YMCA, etc. In 1985, he was hired as a librarian of the Beijing Museum of Literature and History.
In 1988, he was invited to visit Tokyo and Niigata, Japan. He held a calligraphy and painting brush meeting with his Japanese friend ***, and exchanged knowledge on calligraphy and painting, ancient books and rare books. His resume is included in the "Dictionary of Chinese Social Scientists" It is included in many dictionaries such as "Famous Guide of Modern Chinese Calligraphers, Painters and Seal Engravers" published in Japan.
