Goh Zuoxi (1846— 1929), whose real name is Zhong Mu, He Sheng, is from Huilai Huating. In the 11th year of Guangxu reign in Qing dynasty (1885), the official paid tribute to Zhili prefecture. In his later years, he earned a living by writing, built a home, named it "Word Room", and carved "Word Room Inscription" on the doorpost in order to let future generations know the origin of this room.

Wu Zuoxi is good at calligraphy and his running script is exquisite. His running script is casual and elegant, rich and elegant, taking French King Daling and He Ji Shao. Regular script is plain and rigorous, which originated from beauty. The existing three-character plaque of "Hidden Phase Hall" in regular script in Jinggang Phase Temple, Yuhu, Jieyang is a masterpiece with bold brushwork, exquisite brushwork, full of verve and rigorous attitude. Now this plaque is well preserved. His book 19 19, Epitaph of Army Infantry General Ma Jun, belongs to the same style with sharp pen, dense front, rigorous and solemn words, solid balance between shelves and moderate composition.

I think beginners had better learn regular script from Ou Yangxun, because Europe can bypass Wei Bei and enter the Tang Dynasty. The author pays great attention to the European style, and was lucky enough to witness the Jiucheng Palace Monument in Baoji, and also saw the Jiucheng Palace Monument inscribed by contemporary celebrities and the works copied in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Most of these works only work hard to be faithful to the original works, but Wu Zuoxi is different. He not only pursues vividness, but also tries to make changes and transcendence. His genius lies in his unique style, which is vigorous but not cruel, healthy and inaccurate, showing distinctive features and forming his own unique creative personality. It should be pointed out that he took European-style handwritten Chinese characters. In the existing inscriptions and postscript of Ou Yangxun, we don't see the European style with big characters, and it is difficult to do this without really grasping the connotation of the European style. Shantou Li Zhao bought Wu Zuoxi's seven-character couplet from Shantou Calligraphy and Painting Society: "Apricot golden and wheat ripe, song high and green, north red." This is a six-foot long couplet. Although it is a large European couplet, it is slightly different from the "Hidden Phase Hall". After absorbing a lot of nutrition from Park Maojun's "All North Monument", he made some adjustments in pen and ink. The round pen is emotional and the square is shaped, which makes the knot more detailed, flexible, vivid and amazing. Yu Peiqi of Chenghai collected his eight-character couplets: "Shake the pen and scatter the beads, move the ink over the brocade, and sing the floating clouds in Tai Su." The writing characteristics of this couplet are roughly the same as those of previous couplets, and the pen and ink are quite particular. The outstanding place is that a lot of ink is used, which is rich but not chaotic and more straightforward. But what is the inscription? It is dark and natural. Long scrolls and hooks are very free and easy, hanging needles float down, like wind and willow, vertical and horizontal oblique. Those with deep-rooted traditions may not be able to do this.
