Wang Jianxun was born in Dingzhou, Hebei Province in 1962. He joined the army in 1980. He is a cadre of the Air Force in Beijing. He has a bachelor's degree and is a military calligrapher and seal engraver.
Concurrently serves as Vice Chairman of the Cultural Development Foundation of the Red Cross Society of China, Executive Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Charity Network, Executive Director of the Chinese Red Cross Society of Calligraphy and Painting Academy, China Zen Buddhist Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and Beijing Zhonghe Centenary Painting and Calligraphy Academy. His calligraphy and seal cutting works have been published or featured in dozens of newspapers and periodicals. He has participated in many military and civilian calligraphy and painting exhibitions and won awards. In September 2008, his works were selected to be carried into space aboard the Shenzhou 7 spacecraft and participated in domestic and international tour exhibitions. He was one of the 300 artists in the country and 20 artists in the army. Many of his works have been collected by celebrities at home and abroad, collected in volumes or carved on stone, and his artistic biography has been included in many dictionaries and classics.
