According to the official website of Jilin Normal University, the School of Liberal Arts currently has three undergraduate majors: Chinese language and literature, Chinese international education, and calligraphy. This major cultivates talents with comprehensive development of morality, intelligence, body, beauty and labor.

The College of Liberal Arts of Jilin Normal University has a history of more than 60 years, and has gone through three historical periods: Siping Normal College, Siping Normal University and Jilin Normal University. In 1958, the Chinese Department, the predecessor of the School of Liberal Arts, was established with the founding of Siping Normal College.
