Wanli Yangtze River is in Jingjiang River.

On the bank of Jingjiang River, an "underground stone tower" with a history of more than 500 years is incredible. It is the only "underground pagoda" in China. Built in the twenty-seventh year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty, it is one of the important immovable historical relics in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province.

Wanshou Pagoda, located in Wansongyuan, Shashi District, Jingzhou City, stands above Guanyin Jitou, the first levee of Jingjiang River in Wanli.

According to historical records, it was built in four years by Zhu Xian, the Liao king who attacked Jiangling, at the behest of his mother Mao, to pray for Emperor Jiajing. During the reign of Kangxi, Qianlong and Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, it was repaired.

This tower is a pavilion tower, masonry structure, octagonal seven-level, seven-story, about 40 meters high, and contains the Diamond Sutra written by Princess Mao.

After hundreds of years, Wanshou Pagoda has been well preserved, and its body is full of historical vicissitudes, witnessing the surging danger of Jingjiang River.

It is understood that in addition to praying for the emperor's longevity, this tower also has the meaning of locking the river, subduing the flood and ensuring the safety of one side.

There is a flood-fighting tablet pavilion next to the pagoda, which is in harmony with the Wanshou Pagoda, blending ancient and modern, making tourists explore the history of the pagoda more profound.

Jingjiang River is about 430 kilometers long, so it is named after ancient Jingzhou.

The northern bank of Jingjiang River is Jianghan Plain (osawa ancient cloud dream), and the southern bank is Dongting Lake Plain, which is low-lying. Because of the winding river and the flood discharge, it is easy to break the dam, which is known as "the long river is a thousand miles long and the danger lies in Jingjiang River".

/kloc-During the Eastern Jin Dynasty 0/600 years ago, dikes were built to prevent water, and Yunmeng osawa was reclaimed. By the Ming Dynasty, the Jingjiang levee on the north bank was formed.

Because the riverbed and water level of the Yangtze River have been gradually raised in the long years, the Jingjiang levee has been reinforced and heightened year by year, so that the tower of Wanshou Pagoda is gradually lower than the dike surface and "goes deep underground" by 7.29 meters, creating a unique "underground pagoda", which is the only "underground pagoda" in China.

Under aerial photography, the mighty river is rolling in, and the shape of the "underground pagoda" is spectacular. At the top is a gourd-shaped copper-plated pagoda engraved with the full text of the Diamond Sutra, which is a rare cultural relic in China.

The whole tower is simple, and the growth of plants has become more and more vicissitudes in the long years. In the rain, that awe is even more dignified.

Inside and outside the pagoda, there are carved Buddha statues and 87 white marble Buddha statues, which are solemn and quaint, with profound cultural heritage and a long history.

Under the baptism of time, some Buddha statues have changed beyond recognition, but in the long river of history, they contain all the faces in the world and still leave traces of fresh charm.

There is a tower door on each floor of the pagoda, which enters the bottom floor along the sinking ladder. An 8-meter-high giant Buddha is very solemn, which makes the environment in the tower solemn and serene.

There are also Buddha statues on the second, third and fourth floors, including the golden Buddha and the carved Buddha.

Among them, there is an inscription on the side of the Buddha statue on the fourth floor of the tower room. Although the handwriting is mottled, it is a precious material for studying the architectural history of the tower palace.

At the same time, there are thousands of tiles and writing tiles on the inner wall of the tower, which are engraved in Chinese, Manchu and Tibetan respectively. Tower bricks come from 8 provinces 16 counties in China, and are dedicated by lay people all over the country.

Each brick has the name of the donor at that time and the number of bricks donated.

According to online data, * * * has 2347 bricks, each of which is an important material for studying history, and its brick carving art can be called "the best in Jingchu".

Wanshou Pagoda is one of the core landscapes in Wanshou Park and an important ancient building in Hubei Province. 1956 was announced as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in the province.

Together with Jingzhou Flood-fighting Monument Pavilion, Linjiang Promenade, Calligraphy Monument Garden, Strange Stone Bonsai Exhibition and Jingjiang Machine Investment, it forms an antique Wanshou Park with beautiful bamboo and wood.

In addition to the Wanshou Tower, Jingjiang Airport Investment is also an important attraction not to be missed. Jingjiang Jitou, also known as "Guanyin Rock", was founded in the Southern Song Dynasty, and was named after the "Guanyin Pavilion" built on the rock.

It used to be a soil foundation, but it was converted into a stone foundation in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, which has played an important role in resolving the dangerous situation of Jingjiang River for hundreds of years.

Standing on the rocks and overlooking the river, Tianshui is the same color, which is an excellent place to watch the water surface of the river.

The 500-year-old Wanshou Pagoda has quietly stood above Guanyin Jitou. No matter whether Jingjiang River is like a dragon, it has been silently guarding Jingzhou for hundreds of years.

It is not only a historical witness of the floods on both sides of Jingjiang River, but also a beautiful wish of people to conquer the river.
