Zou Mubai, a famous contemporary calligraphy educator in China, was voted as one of the "Top Ten Outstanding Men in the World of Contemporary Tough Men" by national calligraphy lovers in 2003, ranking first. Pen calligraphy won the special prize and the first prize in the National Calligraphy Competition for many times in 1980s, and brush calligraphy was selected as the highest award in China-"China Calligraphy Lanting Award".
He once founded Pen Calligraphy Newspaper, presided over the "Wenhua Cup" National Hard Pen Calligraphy Competition, and published more than 900 kinds of pen-and-ink copybooks. His regular script copybook is a good model for learning calligraphy.
