Take the method and be self-motivated

When I was talking with Master about calligraphy, Master asked me if I was posting, and I said I was still writing big characters. Then the master asked me if I knew how to stipple, and I couldn't answer.

I can't answer the master's question Actually, I feel a lot confused. Although I have been writing, every time I pick up the pen, my head is empty, which feels strange. So I said, master, can I start trying to paste it? Master didn't give any answers, but he explained to me the stages of posting: facing, facing, meaning and creation.

Copying is to face other people's paintings or printed matter, write it down meticulously according to the pen and ink of your own work, and basically copy it exactly, so as to be qualified. Back-to-back, as the name implies, is to cover the book and copy it almost like it. The meaning is to learn a part of his book posts, or to follow the brushwork, ink method or artistic conception, get rid of the fetters of form, pursue similarity, truly integrate the advantages of the original into his own works, and focus on the development methods after mastering certain pen and ink techniques. Creation is creation, that is, using this font to create new works is more free than meaning, and the use of pen and ink is more superb.

After carefully understanding this passage, I feel that I have a new understanding of calligraphy learning. I bowed my head and thought for a moment. I said, master, can this be regarded as the four realms of calligraphy learning? Master thought for a moment, nodded gently and said, Yes, but the real meaning needs to be carefully understood through practice.

I want to teach myself calligraphy, and I have been wandering in Tian Zige and Mi Zige. Over the past few years, I have described it in detail against the European style. Before that, if someone tells me that I want to post, I will say: I haven't written a word yet, maybe I need to slow down and write more big characters!

In fact, copying has always been the most basic method of calligraphy learning since ancient times, and now the popular calligraphy learning methods such as "Tian Zige" and "Mi Zige" are a more convenient method developed by calligraphers to help people understand the structure of Chinese characters. This method can make people who study calligraphy go better on the road without reference, but in the end they have to learn to get rid of it and embark on the road of copywriting. Besides, in fact, the ancients at that time. There is no such thing as "Tian Zige" or "Mi Zige". Therefore, we should clearly realize that it is possible to start with "Tian Zige" and "Mi Zige" in learning calligraphy, but in the end, we have to break away from it and look for it from the perspective of copywriting and enter the formal stage, which is also the right way for the ancients to learn calligraphy. This shows that Master's words are true.

In response to Master's words, I thought a little, mainly about two issues. First, if you want to send it, what post will you send? Second, what do you want to have in the early stage?

First, if you want to send it, what post will you send?

I still remember reading a book about calligraphy learning by teacher Hou Jiqiong, which said: "When writing calligraphy, you can't just bury yourself in it. You must submit the original post to practice the purest calligraphy. " Seeing this sentence, I immediately thought of the original post, which is actually to let myself really contact the author himself. When I was in college, I studied Yan Ti. Because I like the atmosphere of Emperor Yan, I also bought a book about Emperor Yan's Twin Towers Monument. This copy should be temporarily studied by calligraphers. Good, every one is clear, but I always have some doubts. I think the person who saw this word at this time was not Yan Zhenqing himself, but body double, the body of Yan Zhenqing. This feeling reminds me of a star I like very much, Chow Yun Fat. He once had a body double in the movie "Let Bullets Fly" called Composition Xiang, which was very similar to himself. Later, Wen Xiang became famous for imitating Chow Yun Fat, and he also participated in many variety shows, all of which imitated Chow Yun Fat's manners and manners. After reading it, I felt very similar, but I always thought it was an illusion, and I appreciated it the most. Speaking of the original post, it is also a truth. Only when we directly face the author's original document post can we intuitively feel the feelings brought by the author's words, which is correct. Although the posts posted by others may be clearer and more specific, even if there are thousands of benefits, they are always understood by others. We should really understand and produce our own understanding. Sticking the original post is the best choice.

Second, what do you want to have in the early stage?

Just like in order to understand the circuit diagram conveniently and quickly, we must master the knowledge of unit electronic circuits composed of some common components, such as rectifier circuit, filter circuit, amplifier circuit, oscillator circuit, power supply circuit and so on. Because these circuit units are common functional modules in the circuit diagram of electronic products, mastering the knowledge of these unit circuits can not only deepen the understanding of electronic components, but also exercise the understanding of the circuit diagram through such exercises. This knowledge will further lay a good foundation for understanding more complex circuits.

So what should we have before posting? It is "stippling". Teacher Hou Jiqiong's book says: "If the brushwork is correct, at most, you can write with a brush, not calligraphy." Ou Yangxun's Eight Tactics said: A point is like a stone falling from the top of a mountain. Like the first month in the sky. A (horizontal) cloud seems thousands of miles away. What a (vertical) vine. Ge (Ge Gou) Jinsong hangs upside down and falls off a cliff. ? It's like a crossbow. Cut off the rhinoceros's horns with a sword. He often writes three times.

Such a refined explanation makes me understand that it is actually emphasizing brushwork, and stippling is the embodiment of brushwork.

To master stippling, on the one hand, we should learn to observe and understand the shape of stippling, on the other hand, we should learn to use a pen and practice the power of stippling. These methods are directly related to life. Just like cooking and cutting vegetables, many chefs will carve flowers on vegetables. He will observe the shape of the carving, and then when he really works on vegetables, he will consider how to carve it properly with force so as not to destroy the ontology of vegetables. So, it's all the same.

I think of so many places that I should pay attention to because of the post, but if it is implemented, I will eventually need some more specific guidelines to drive it. I think we can think about how to do it and how to do it. Talk about two points: first, insist on repeating. Second, the choice of sharp weapons.

First, insist on repetition.

This era is all about persistence, because everyone knows this truth: without persistence, everything is nothing. But why talk about "repetition"? As Li Yang of Crazy English said: The most successful person is actually the person who repeats the most times. This is not only English learning, but also in many learning fields. In terms of calligraphy learning, repetition is more effective. Because learning calligraphy means learning ancient times, and only continuous learning can be effective. So stick to the back, there must be: repetition. Persistence in repetition is the most important way to learn calligraphy.

Second, sharp weapon

I remember when I was a child, I was exposed to calligraphy. Because it was only a school course, and because it was a small town, there were no tools to buy, so I bought a lot of inferior brushes and inks. From this, my impression of calligraphy at that time was two points: 1, hair removal pen. 2, rotten eggs and smelly ink. Because of this, I found that the reason why I don't like writing brush is very simple. I can't stand the smell. I can't use a pen to write a word and lose a hair. Because of this, it was not until I went to college and had a calligraphy class that I began to learn calligraphy again. At that time, Mr. Su, a calligraphy teacher, helped us to contact a better brush manufacturer and taught us how to buy better ink. At that time, I discovered that good brushes and inks are not as disgusting as they used to be, and high-quality pens and fragrant inks will fascinate people when writing. I think, if I have just come into contact with calligraphy, I can have a better pen and use less smelly ink, so I won't delay so many years and miss many opportunities to get in touch with calligraphy.

From this point of view, if you want to learn calligraphy, you don't have to use the best pen and ink, but at least you should consider the choice of pen and ink, and you must choose a pen and ink that is more suitable for your touch to learn. This will get twice the result with half the effort.

Having said that, after I made it clear from several aspects, I found that my attitude towards calligraphy learning was more correct. Unifying the above viewpoints, I find that I can sum up my attitude with a sentence I saw recently: "Take the law and encourage myself."

Take the law, from the fourth volume of Emperor Tang Taizong Fan: "Take the law from the top, only for the middle, and take the law from the middle, so it is the next." In order to have more gains, we must have high standards in the choice of pen and ink and copybooks. With reference to this standard, you must choose the tools and copybooks that suit you. Only in this way can we gain more.

Self-encouragement refers to vigilance and caution; Vigilance and encouragement The language "Ganyi": "A gentleman works all day long, and if he works late, there is no blame." In the process of learning calligraphy, we should do this. No matter what happens, we should learn to encourage ourselves, keep the best in habits and mentality, and keep repeating until we reach our goal.
