Zhang Shaozhou’s profile

Zhang Shaozhou, male, Han nationality, was born in May 1954 in Luoyang, Henan Province. In 1970, he was drafted into the special forces of the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. Influenced by his father (a calligrapher) since he was a child, he has a good ear and eyesight. Ran, who loves calligraphy art, graduated from China Calligraphy Correspondence University with a bachelor's degree. He is capable of all four styles of calligraphy, with running script and cursive script being the most famous. The running script comes from the "two kings", with flowing clouds and flowing water; the cursive script pursues the charm of Zhang Xu and Huai Su, and is majestic; the regular script is taken from the style of "Yan style", which is solemn and elegant. During the study period, he received careful guidance from teacher Qi Gong, and the composition and charm of his calligraphy became increasingly mature. He devoted himself to studying the relationship between "the movement of human body's Qi meridians and the aesthetic creation of calligraphy". His Qigong calligraphy, "Qi comes from the Dantian and the force comes from the brushstrokes", demonstrates the solemn and mellow, vigorous and powerful, dry and moist charm, and the calligraphy style is naturally unique.
