What artistic grades are recognized by the state?

Shanghai Conservatory of Music was founded on June 27th, 1927, 165438. Its predecessor was the National Conservatory of Music, the earliest institution of higher learning in China, which was founded by the democratic revolutionist, outstanding educator, thinker Mr. Cai Yuanpei and musician Mr. Xiao. Since the establishment of the college, the overall teaching level has been in a leading position in China, and some disciplines have reached the international advanced level.

Excellent teaching tradition and style of study have promoted the emergence of outstanding music talents. Since 1980s, more than 500 people have won prizes in important international and domestic music competitions. From 1990 to 1993, the students of Shanghai Conservatory of Music won the first prize of international music competition in succession, and were awarded the medal of "winning the first prize of international music competition for four consecutive times in three years" by the Ministry of Culture.

It is the only music institution in China that has won this honor. In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Culture, Shanghai Conservatory of Music became an art grading unit across provinces and cities. In addition, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and other countries have also carried out social art level examinations.
