Ling profile

Ling (1876- 1944) was born in Taixian County (now Jiangyan), Jiangsu Province, with his real name, No.,and his later name was Yinfeng Jushi. Political figure in Qing Dynasty and Republic of China, China flower and bird painter, calligrapher and economist. Born in Liangjiang Excellent Normal School in Qing Dynasty, he was appointed as a member of Jiangsu Provincial Advisory Bureau in Xuantong Yuannian (1909). After the founding of the Republic of China, he served as a member of the Provisional Senate of the Nanjing Provisional Government, a counselor of the Ministry of Finance, an acting deputy minister of the Ministry of Finance, and an acting chief minister of the Ministry of Finance. Good at painting and calligraphy, especially long flowers and birds, vigorous and magnificent, quite like Chen Daofu and Xu Wei. He is as famous as Qi Baishi, Chen Banding and Chen Shiceng, and is known as the "Four Great Painters in Beijing". He is the author of China Economics, Finance and My Aesthetic Feeling, etc.
