Since 1989, he has successively joined authoritative academic groups such as China Calligraphers Association, China International Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, China Sinology Research Association, International Sinology Research Association and China Art Society. Currently, he is the tutor of master's degree students in calligraphy, the assistant tutor of doctoral students in Chinese character culture and computer science, an expert in degree and postgraduate education of the Ministry of Education, and the director of the Institute of Calligraphy Art of Chongqing University. He presided over and completed the tenth five-year project of the National Social Science Fund "Research on the History of Calligraphy in East Asia" and two provincial and ministerial key projects. At present, he is in charge of the 2008 planning project of the Ministry of Education "Study on the External Communication of Calligraphy Art in China". Calligraphy works have participated in many major exhibitions at home and abroad, won many awards and been engraved and passed down. Calligraphy works spread to Japan, Korea, Sweden, the United States and Singapore and many other countries and regions. He has published six personal monographs, calligraphy series, biographies of China ancient and modern female artists, China Calligraphy Dictionary, Outline of East Asian Calligraphy History, Korean Calligraphy History and Korean Calligraphy Essentials, and published more than 20 academic papers in various journals. Another personal monograph, Chinese Character Calligraphy and Foreign Communication, is being published. Up to now, there have been more than 5 million words of academic research results.

In 2007, he was awarded the title of "Top Ten Book Collectors" by the 17th National Book Fair and the 1st National Book Fair, ranking second, and was the only one among dozens of universities in Chongqing to win this honor.
