Yimeng painting and calligraphy

Yimeng is the hometown of Wang Xizhi, a "book saint", and also a famous hometown of calligraphy and painting. Influenced by the sage of calligraphy, there has been a custom of learning calligraphy here since ancient times. "The ancient city of Lunan is beautiful, and there are many famous people in Langya". Linyi was called Langya in ancient times, with many historical figures and writers. Besides Wang Xizhi, a great calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Yan Zhenqing, a great calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty, was also born here. The site of Zhao Pu Temple in the southwest corner of Linyi Old Town was once the former residence of Wang Xizhi. In the past, Wang Xizhi's "Reading Desk" and "Xiyan Lake" have been preserved. There was an original Five Sages Temple in Linyi City, which was built by the ancients in memory of Zhuge Liang, Wang Xiang, Wang Lan, Yan Zhenqing and Yan Gaoqing. For thousands of years, Linyi's calligraphy and painting are well-known, ranging from a few years old to 80 years old with white hair. Most of them splash ink on paper. Famous painters such as Zhang Shoumin, Hui Yukun, Pi Zhixian, Gao, Yan Quan and Li Dakun have further developed the traditional calligraphy art. In recent years, the calligraphy craze has gradually become a regional culture with strong local customs. Some non-governmental academic groups have been set up to study Wang Xizhi and Yan Zhenqing. 1990 In May, China Linyi Book Holy Grail International Calligraphy Competition and Wang Xizhi's Hometown International Painting and Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition were successfully held in Linyi area. Linyi area is attracting more and more people at home and abroad to observe calligraphy and exchange skills with the charm of traditional calligraphy art.

Shen Zeng, a famous calligrapher, said: "The world recognizes that China's calligraphy is the highest art, because it can show amazing miracles, with colorless and brilliant paintings, silent and harmonious music, fascinating and pleasing to the eye." This accurate evaluation of the aesthetic characteristics of China's calligraphy was clearly confirmed in ancient Linyi.
