Zhengyangguan ancient city gate
Zhengyangguan, an ancient town in Huaishang, has suffered from many wars and floods in history, but there are still three ancient city gates-North Gate, South Gate and East Gate (the west gate was destroyed before liberation). What is even more amazing is that the foreheads of the inner and outer doors of the three city gates are engraved with ancient inscriptions, and the fonts are dignified or vigorous, which are not only profound and meaningful, but also rare calligraphy treasures. In Zhengyangguan, primitive people built dikes to prevent floods. Five years of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1866), Shouzhou was known to take photos. Rebuild the wall on the dike site, with a height of 720 feet and a height of 1.5 feet, accounting for four miles and three points. Female wall 1370 stack. "There are four gates in the city with towers and stone carvings inside and outside the gate.
East Gate Inscription: Chaoyang; Additional inscription: Spring Platform in Western Regions. Chaoyang: The rising sun in the east. This inscription implies that people place infinite hopes on Zhengyang, wishing Zhengyang as prosperous as a red sun rising in Ran Ran in the East. Xi is in Chuntai. This allusion comes from Chapter 20 of Laozi's Tao Te Ching: "Everyone is bustling. If you enjoy too much prison, it will be like spring on the stage." In today's words, people are in high spirits, as if they were going to a rich banquet, and as if they were watching the beautiful scenery on the platform of warm spring, which is a harmonious scene. "Spring Terrace in the Western Regions" means that when people board the East Gate, they feel as comfortable as if they were on a high platform and watching the beautiful scenery in sunny spring. This not only refers to the height of the East Gate, but also refers to the pleasant surrounding scenery, which is a good place for everyone to play.
South Gate Inscription: Fu Jie; Additional inscription: Huainan Ancient Town. Fu Jie originated from Shun Di's Song of the South Wind. According to historical records, Yue wrote: "Qian Shun played banjo and sang the south wind". The south wind sings: "the south wind can relieve the anxiety of our people;" When the south wind blows, you can enrich the wealth of our people. "It means that officials should solve problems for the people, reduce their burden, increase their income and let them live a better life. The ancient town of Huainan means Zhengyangguan is an ancient town in Huainan with a long history. According to Biography of Historical Records of Qing Bu, in the third year of Emperor Gaozu, Qing Bu, the king of Jiujiang, returned to Han. "In July of four years (that is, in July of 203 BC), Leeb was the king of Huainan", Shouchun was the kingdom of Huainan, and Zhengyangguan was also under the jurisdiction of Huainan, so it was called "Huainan Ancient Town".
Ximen original inscription: Xiying Chang Geng; Original additional inscription: Liu Huai holds the key. Chang Geng is reflected in the west, talking about Xiaoya-Dadong in The Book of Songs. "There is enlightenment in the East and Chang Geng in the West". Chang Gung is Venus, also known as Taibai and Qi Ming. When you see Chang Geng, you see Qi Ming. "Geng Ying in the West" means that at dusk, Chang Geng Xing shines on the West Gate with the afterglow of the sunset, mainly telling the beautiful scenery of the West Gate at sunset. The key to Huaihe River: Zhengyangguan is an important hub of Huaihe River, with water leading to Zhengyang, Yangzhou in the east, Tongbai in the west, Fu Ying in the north and Dabie Mountain in the south. "Huaihe River key" means that Ximen is like a key to control the flow of Huaihe River. It is said that the importance of Ximen to the water transport of Huaihe River is to guard the throats of Huaihe River, Ying River and Pi River. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, a Japanese gunboat came from Huainan, bombarded the tower from Huaihe River and destroyed the West Gate.
The inscription on the north gate is Chen Gong, and the inscription on the outside is Fengcheng Shouzhen. Chen Gong comes from the second chapter of The Analects of Confucius, "Confucius said: Governing the country by virtue is like Beichen, surrounded by stars." It means that a politician with official morality should put "official morality" first and serve others with morality, so that the people will unite around you like the stars around Beidou, thus gaining the trust and support of the people. There is a saying in Jin Pan An Ren's "Yoshida Fu" that "the morning sun shines like a star arch." Fengcheng is the first town, which means Zhengyangguan is the largest town in Fengyang. According to historical records, in order to expand the jurisdiction of Fengyang House in his hometown, Zhu Yuanzhang, Emperor Taizu of Ming Dynasty, incorporated Shouzhou into Fengyang House in the fourth year of Hongwu (A.D. 137 1). According to "Ming Jiajing Shouzhou Zhiyun": "Mingxing, Gaodi is Shouchun House, and Shouzhou is changed to Fengyang House." Zhengyang belongs to Shouzhou, and Bangzhengyang belongs to Fengyang House. Because Zhengyangguan "seventy-two waters lead to Zhengyang", thanks to water transportation, it is good at sailing and is an important material distribution center in the middle reaches of Huaihe River. Since the first year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty, it has been a commercial center in the middle reaches of the Huaihe River and has the reputation of "the first town in Huainan", so it is called "the first town in Fengcheng".
It can be seen that most of the inscriptions on the gate of Zhengyangguan are from classics such as Tao Te Ching, The Book of Songs, The Analects of Confucius and Historical Records. These are all meaningful and really worth stopping to think about. Zhengyang city wall was demolished by Kuomintang troops in 1940, and the east, south and north gates are still preserved. Zhengyang's ancient city gate makes people feel nostalgic.
