A Brief Introduction of Wen Zhiming's Poems of the West Garden

Wen Zhiming (1470 ~ 1559), formerly known as Wale, was named lay Hengshan. Changzhou (now Suzhou, Jiangsu) people. At the age of 54, he was appointed as Gong Sheng of imperial academy and recommended to the official department for a try. This volume is a paper book and cursive script, with a length of 28.4 cm and a width of 447.4 cm. Poetry of Xiyuan was written by Wen Zhiming when he was a teacher in Beijing Normal University at the age of 56. Seven verses 10, describing the scenery of the imperial garden (now Beihai) centered on the West Ethereum in Gongcheng. This book was written in Jiajing Jiayin Year (1554), and Wen Zhiming was 85 years old 30 years later. Beautiful, elegant, vigorous and fluent calligraphy is one of his masterpieces in his later years. After the volume, there is an inscription by Wang Shu in Qing Dynasty, and there are many Tibetan seals such as "Di Qing Calligraphy and Painting Appreciation Seal". Now it is in the Palace Museum.
