He is currently the vice chairman of the Calligraphy Art Committee of Shanghai Couplet Society and the consultant of Shanghai Hongqiao Painting Academy.
Tao Qiu loved calligraphy since childhood, and his childhood studies were mainly recorded with a brush. At the age of nine, he became famous for his title. /kloc-went to Beijing to study at the age of 0/6, and studied under famous artists such as,,, Dakang, Zhang, etc. At the age of seventeen, he was recommended by Mr. Wang, a famous calligrapher and seal engraver in Peking University. He worked part-time, copied the Draft of Qing History with Mr. Bingsen, and studied the theory of calligraphy and painting with Mr. Qi Gong, the teacher. Since 198 1 joined the China Book Association, his papers and creations have been frequently reported in newspapers, welcomed by all walks of life at home and abroad, praised by Zhongnanhai, the Great Hall of the People, the Capital Museum, China Hanyuan Forest of Steles and Wutai, and made friends with Nan, a master of Chinese studies.
Major achievements
-1980: Judge of the First National Exhibition of Calligraphy and Seal Cutting in Shenyang and Beijing.
1982: judge commemorating the centenary of Lu Xun's birth.
1983: Silver Award in China Modern Centennial Calligraphy Competition.
1988: qualified for inscription.
1989 won the "Stars Award" in the calligraphy exhibition organized by the Ministry of Culture.
