What does the word tablet mean?

The tablet without words is made of a complete boulder, with a height of 7.53m, a width of 2. 1 m, a thickness of1.49m and a total weight of about100t. The monument is made of a complete boulder. There are dragon figures on both sides of the tablet without words, each with a flying dragon, which is 4. 12 meters high and carved by lines. This dragon looks like it is soaring in the sky, lifelike.

There is also a line carved lion horse figure on the front of the monument, which is 2. 14 meters long and 0.66 meters wide. The horse bends its hoof and bows its head, which is gentle and lovely. The lion is cocky, radiant and majestic. There are also many flowers and plants on the monument, and the lines are fine and smooth. The whole tablet without words is tall and majestic, beautifully carved.

There is no word or name on the tablet. There is a dragon in the center of the monument. There are four dragons on the left and right sides of the monument, and there are nine dragons on the * * *, so it is also called "Kowloon Monument". These dragons are skillfully intertwined, with distinct scales and bare bones and muscles, moving silently and full of vitality.

This wordless tablet, carefully designed and erected by Wu Zetian, is not only a symbol of Gan Ling in people's eyes, but also a symbol of Empress Wu Zetian. As for why there are no words on the tablet without words, there are three kinds of opinions:

The first is "Deda Theory". It is difficult to express in words that Wu Zetian's wordless tablet is used to praise himself, claiming that the emperor is married. Therefore, it is far beyond words to express her greatness by erecting a white monument.

The second is "guilt theory". It is believed that Wu Zetian set up a wordless tablet because she knew that she was guilty, so she thought it better not to write an inscription.

The third is "last words". I believe that Wu Zetian is a self-aware person, and her last words before she died: "Merits and demerits are left to future generations", so she didn't know a word. It is wise to erect a monument without words, and it is the best way for future generations to comment on merits and demerits.

Since the Song and Jin Dynasties, people began to carve words on the tablet without words, making the tablet without words become a tablet with words. After the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, many words were gradually engraved on the tablet, which not only naturally formed an "inscription" to evaluate Wu Zetian in content, but also provided five elements: truth, grass, official, seal and calligraphy.

However, due to the long history, only 1 135 Travel Notes of Lang Jun, the Emperor's Brother of Daikin, is well preserved. It is written in Jurchen script with Chinese translation. As the Jurchen script disappeared later, the words on the tablet became valuable materials for studying the Jurchen script and the history and culture of China ethnic minorities.
