When it comes to Cao Cao, his three-character nickname will pop up in many people’s minds: Wife Cao. They even think that Cao Cao is a serious person. The villain.
But this is not true. It can be said that he was very outstanding. Looking at the late Eastern Han Dynasty, there were almost no people who were more outstanding than Cao Cao.
Even Liu Bei and Sun Quan, who share the world with Cao Cao, seem to be only enough to carry shoes in comparison.
If nothing else, let’s talk about the titles on the heads of these three people.
Liu Bei and Sun Quan were politicians at best, but Cao Cao was a politician, militiaman, writer, calligrapher, and even a talented poet.
You must still be able to recite the "Dan Ge Xing" he wrote:
Singing over wine, what a life! Like morning dew, it will be more painful every day. Generosity should be shown as generosity, and worries will be unforgettable. How to relieve worries? Only Du Kang...
In addition, Liu Bei and Sun Quan are not as good as Cao Cao in one point, and that is the number of wives and heirs.
According to historical records, Cao Cao had 25 biological sons and 6 biological daughters, Sun Quan had 10 children, and Liu Bei had even fewer, only 6 children (approximately). Even Sima Yi, who later took over the Cao family, only had 10 children.
So, judging from the number of children alone, Cao Cao's imperial temperament is fully revealed.
It’s just that Cao Cao never proclaimed himself emperor in his life. When he was alive, although he emptied the authority of the Han Emperor, he was still a Han minister in name, while Liu Bei and Sun Quan actually became emperors. , established their own political power, so who are the Han traitors?
Cao Cao loved the country even more than beauty. He had so many children, so naturally he also had many wives and concubines. Among Cao Cao's wives, there was one who robbed other people's wives.
How many did Cao Cao steal in one go?
If Cao Cao was asked to answer this question, he would definitely say without hesitation: If you think too much, is my nickname just in vain?

No one can tell the specific number of wives and concubines of General Cao Cao, but we can give a minimum number based on the records in "Three Kingdoms" : 16 bits.
These ladies almost all have the same characteristics: beautiful and glamorous.
Therefore, it is not wrong at all to say that Cao Cao is a typical person who cares about appearance. As long as he sees someone who is beautiful, Cao Cao will feel itchy. Regarding this, Du Mu wrote about this in his poem "Red Cliff". It's very straightforward:
The broken halberd sinks into the sand and the iron is not sold, but it will be washed away and the future will be recognized. Dongfeng refused to go along with Zhou Lang, and Tongquechun locked up Er Qiao...
In Du Mu's view, if Cao Cao wins the Battle of Chibi, then Sun Ce's wife Da Qiao and Zhou Yu's wife Xiao Qiao, Then Cao Cao would collect them all and hide them in the Tongque Tower.
Of course, Cao Cao could only keep the fantasies of Big and Little Qiao in his heart, who made him lose this war.
Not to mention, Du Mu was really right about Cao Cao, but Cao Cao really liked to steal other people's wives, so some of us now give him a nickname, "Wife Cao".
Cao Cao deserved this nickname because he had indeed stolen more than one other people's wives.
Among the 16 wives of Cao Cao who have names and surnames, and there are accurate historical records, three of them are the "wives" that Cao snatched away. They are Zou, the wife of Zhang Ji, the wife of Dong Zhuo's tribe, and Lu Bu's wife. Du Shi, the wife of Qin Yilu, and Yin Shi, the wife of General He Jin's son.
Let’s talk about them one by one.

In 197 AD, Cao Cao marched south. When he led his army to Feishui, the small warlord leader Zhang Xiu led his troops to surrender, and Cao Cao was here. At that time, he raped Zhang Xiu's aunt and Zhang Ji's widow.
These are the few words mentioned in the official history, and even the surname of Zhang Ji's wife is not recorded.
So why does everyone call it "Zou" now?
This is actually because Mr. Luo Guanzhong named her for her in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" he wrote. In order to make this scene more exciting, Mr. Luo also gave full play to his subjective initiative and included This incident was connected with the Battle of Wancheng, so a story like this appeared:
Cao Cao’s nephew Cao Anmin saw a beautiful woman in the city, so he escorted her away She gave it to Cao Cao, and after careful inquiry, he found out that this woman was Zhang Xiu's aunt.
Mrs. Zou was so beautiful that Cao Cao said to her:
It is a blessing to see Madam today. I would like to sleep with you on the same bed tonight, follow me back to the capital, and enjoy the wealth and honor in peace, how about that? ——"The Romance of the Three Kingdoms"
This means that you can follow me. From now on, you will be popular, drink hot food, and enjoy endless glory and wealth. Mrs. Zou knew that she could not get rid of Cao Cao and could only obey.
Later Zhang Xiu found out and felt that Cao Cao's move was an insult to him, so he followed Jia Xu's suggestion to attack Cao Cao secretly. As a result, Cao Cao was defeated. If Dian Wei and Cao Ang hadn't saved Cao Cao with their lives, he would have died. Cao Cao also had to explain that he was in Wancheng.

Du was originally the wife of Cao Cao's general Qin Yilu. They had a son named Qin Lang. Later Qin Yilu was sent by Lu Bu as an envoy to Yuan Shu. Yuan Shu felt that Qin Yilu As soon as he showed his talent, he was retained and put into important use, and he was also betrothed to a Han Dynasty clan daughter.
Du had no choice but to live alone with Qin Lang.
Later, Cao Cao sent troops to attack Lu Bu and besiege Xiapi. At this time, Guan Yu was still in Cao Cao's camp. Guan Yu said to Cao Cao:
My wife has no children. Go down to the city and beg for Yilu's wife. ——"Huayang Guozhi"
What Guan Yu means is that his own wife has not given birth to a son. After the city is destroyed, please betroth the Du family to me.
Cao Cao was thinking about conquering Guan Yu at that time, so he naturally agreed. After the city was broken, Guan Yu asked Cao Cao several times to marry Du.
Cao Cao felt that there must be something going on. He suspected that Mrs. Du must be a beauty, so he met her first. She was indeed a beauty at first sight. Cao Cao was not polite and accepted Mrs. Du directly. As a concubine.
Qin Lang also became Cao Cao's stepson, and Cao Cao loved him very much.
After Du family followed Cao Cao, she gave birth to two sons and a daughter for Cao Cao, namely Cao Lin, Cao Gun and Princess Jinxiang.
5.
There are not many records about the Yin family in history books. She was originally the daughter-in-law of General He Jin. He Jin’s son died very early, and he was not even married. His name was not left, but he and Mrs. Yin had a son named He Yan.
When Cao Cao was promoted to Sikong, he heard that Yin was as beautiful as a flower, so he took her as his concubine, and also adopted He Yan.
Later, Mrs. Yin also gave birth to a son for Cao Cao, named Cao Ju. After that, there were not many records in the history books.
However, there are other records about He Yan.
He Yan was a lecherous man and a drug addict. He was a libertine. Cao Cao treated him well and even married his daughter, Princess Jinxiang, to him.
But He Yan didn't cherish it at all. Later, Princess Jinxiang even cried to Mrs. Du about He Yan's evil deeds, but Mrs. Du said there was no need to worry about it. Later, He Yan was convicted of a serious crime and executed.
6.
At first glance, Cao Cao had sixteen wives and concubines, and only three of them were other people's wives. This ratio is not high. It seems that "human wives" "Cao" nickname, Cao Cao is relatively unlucky.
But if you think about it carefully, it’s really not a loss.
In ancient times, sons were favored over daughters. Most of Cao Cao’s wives and concubines were recorded in history because they had sons. They did not give birth to children for Cao Cao, or the wives who only gave birth to daughters were not recorded. .
This means that Cao Cao must not have only 16 wives and concubines, and he would naturally have more than 3 when he snatched other people's wives. It can be said that Cao Cao did not reject all beauties, even if they were If you refuse, you will still not give up.
However, Cao Cao did not treat the wives and his stepsons that he snatched badly, and he did not abandon them like worn shoes after not getting them.
Perhaps it is precisely because of this that these wives and concubines get along so harmoniously. At least there is no "palace fighting drama" that Cao Cao likes to see in his harem.
