The autumn wind is strong once a year, unlike spring. Better than the spring sunshine, the vast river and the sky are covered with frost. It comes from "Picking Mulberries: Double Ninth Festival", a poem written by the modern revolutionary and litterateur Mao Zedong in 1929. The whole poem is written in a clear, hearty and magnificent manner, and has great power to inspire people.
Original text of "Picking Mulberries·Double Ninth Festival"
[Modern] Mao Zedong
Life is easy but it is difficult to grow old,
The Double Ninth Festival is celebrated every year.
Today is the Double Ninth Festival again,
The yellow flowers on the battlefield are especially fragrant.
The annual autumn breeze is strong,
It is not like spring.
Better than spring,
The vast river and sky are covered with frost. Notes on "Picking Mulberries·Double Ninth Festival"
