This ancient city has a history of more than 300 years. In the Kangxi dynasty, people built city walls with large pieces of red sandstone. Even after hundreds of years, the city wall is still rock solid, sheltering people from the wind and rain. Some stones have mottled marks, and some even have plants, but they still stand proudly. Walking through the city wall and into the bluestone path, the mottled traces of time seem so solemn.
There is also a beautiful building in the ancient city, namely the Phoenix Hongqiao. It extends vertically from the shore to Mingzu Street, and then connects with Mingzu Street horizontally. It is said that Hongqiao has a history of more than 600 years, about twice that of the ancient city. At night, the beautiful neon lights on Hongqiao are reflected on the river, which is in harmony with the quaint buildings on both sides of the strait. It is really unique!
I believe everyone knows the misty and rainy water town in the south of the Yangtze River, but the ancient city of Phoenix in Linjiang has its own characteristics. Especially those old houses built by the river, more than half of them are hung under the house, and the bottom of the river and the bottom of the house are connected with wood. When the sun is about to set, it is really beautiful to look at these suspended buildings and the river water dyed red by the setting sun.
After dinner, I went for a walk by the river and walked slowly on those green stone roads. How delightful. If you are tired from walking, you can also rest in a teahouse, a roadside bar. Teahouses and bars here also have local ethnic characteristics. Go in and enjoy them.
