Walking in Tangcun in the rain

Text/Yan Qun

Tangcun, located in Wangqu, Chang'an at the northern foot of Nanwu Tai at the foot of the Qinling Mountains, is known as a "place where homesickness can be placed between the mountains and the city." It is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with picturesque scenery. There are many historical relics such as Zhang Xueliang's Mansion and Yaowang Temple nearby. It is also the place where literary giant Liu Qing wrote "History of Entrepreneurship". It can be said that it is a blend of historical relics and rural civilization. Feng shui treasure land.

Winding along the newly built road, you will arrive at Chang'an Tangcun·China Agricultural Park. The car parked at the north entrance, and as soon as we got off the car, we were attracted by the endless golden rice fields in front of us. At a glance, the golden rice ears are nodding and bending, exuding an intoxicating fragrance. The breeze blows, and waves of golden rice surge up, as if singing praises for the harvest fields. God was unfavorable and it started to drizzle again. The autumn wind is a bit cool, but my heart is particularly quiet. Walking in the fields and ridges, stroking the heavy ears of grain, the long-lost feeling floods my body... Everything in front of me is never familiar! That is my hometown where I was born and raised for eighteen years. It is located on the bank of Zigou River at the foot of Zhongnan Mountain. It is a land of fish and rice rich in products.

Looking into the distance, from Nanbaozhai Village to Shuguang Village and Gaowan Village, more than 500 acres of rice fields unfold a picture of pastoral life. The local ace variety "Osmanthus Ball" rice harvest is in sight. The plump ears of grain not only condense the sweat of farmers’ hard work, but also continue the most distant rural memories. Today, the three-dimensional cooperation development model of Tangcun in Chang'an has gradually become clearer, and has formed a new form of tourism that integrates farming experience, pastoral sightseeing, Tang Dynasty suburban culture and rural tourism and vacation. My friend’s hometown is here, and every time it’s rice-planting season, from his circle of friends, I can see the beautiful scenery of the Zhongnan water town in the Tang poem: “Egrets fly over the desert paddy fields, and orioles sing over the gloomy summer trees.” It evokes many beautiful memories of my childhood. It is said that now, the sweet-scented osmanthus rice grown in Nanbaozhai Village and surrounding villages has been blessed by cultural creativity, which has increased the added value of agricultural products. At the same time, Tangcun has also actively promoted the local intangible cultural heritage through the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Empowerment Plan", and launched agricultural cultural and creative products such as the "Flowers Are Burning" series of rice wine from Tangji Collection, "Century-old Youfang" rapeseed oil; Osmanthus fragrans It has also established cooperation models with some well-known brand companies to produce global rice, wheat, rapeseed and other crops.

Walking into Tangcun, although the sky was drizzling, there were many pedestrians. The colorful umbrellas are like blooming flowers, adding a touch of bright color to the gloomy weather. According to records, the predecessor of Tangcun was Nanbaozhai Village. In the 1990s, due to the lack of electricity and water resources, coupled with inconvenient transportation, the villagers of Nanbaozhai Village lived on a plateau more than 30 meters high, making production and life very inconvenient. Most of the land was under the plateau, and daily labor was very hard. During the harvest season, people can only use manpower to pull the grain from the plateau to their homes. In 2000, Nanbaozhai Village began to relocate the entire village to the lower plateau, and the old village on the plateau has since become an abandoned deserted village.

Nanbaozhai Village’s return to the public eye originated from an unexpected visit by Tianlang Holding Group in May 2016. A group of people set off from Xi'an and drove to Zhongnan Mountain in the Qinling Mountains. Based on their previous interpretation of the country's new urbanization strategy, they visited various villages at the foot of the Qinling Mountains, as well as rural celebrities and sages, hoping to find a place to rest their homesickness between the mountains and the city. When they came to the old village plateau of Nanbaozhai Village, they were shocked by the scenery in front of them. Nearly a hundred courtyards with Guanzhong architectural style seem to tell the story of the wind, rain and vicissitudes of the years. Looking far into the distance, you can see the waves of wheat rolling, and the dark blue Zhongnan Mountain covered with clouds and fog, reflecting the crisscrossing fields and villages. Isn't this the place they are looking for?

Therefore, with the joint efforts of the China Village Community Development Promotion Association of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Chang'an District Committee and District Government, and Tianlang Holding Group, the "Chang'an Tangcun·China Agricultural Park" with a total planned area of ??approximately 38 square kilometers was It came into being. The appearance of Nanbaozhai Village has undergone earth-shaking changes since then, becoming a vivid portrayal of "lucid waters and lush mountains are mountains of gold and silver". Nowadays, the land here is flat, shaded by greenery, and the houses look like a poetic pastoral residence. Even the supporting businesses inside are full of humanistic and pastoral features. Special businesses such as Kaiyuan Fengya, Heran Shanfang, Gourmet Friends Club, Sanxun Tavern, Shitang·Huachao Art B&B, and special venues such as the Rural Library and Sweet Potato Museum are arranged in an orderly manner, recreating the pastoral scenery of Tang poetry. Life relieves the distant and strong nostalgia memories of industrial cities.

Every time I read "The moss marks are green on the steps, and the grass is green on the curtains", I suddenly feel the fragrance on my lips and teeth, and my heart is fascinated. I imagine that I am also in a thatched cottage in the mountains, with cloth clothes and thatched roofs leisurely singing to the moon, poetry, wine, farming, reading and tea. That kind of leisurely way of life is comparable to that of gods. Today, walking around the Shitang Art Center in Tangcun gives people the feeling of being transported back to the Tang Dynasty in a dream. This area once had a splendid past. Archaeologically discovered sites can be traced back to the Neolithic Age and the Shang and Zhou dynasties. It was once the location of the imperial palace of the Han Dynasty. During the Tang Dynasty, humanities reached their peak. Poets such as Du Mu, Han Yu, Cui Hu, Cen Shen and Wei Yingwu lived here. Hundreds of poets and celebrities gathered here for outings and inspired more than a thousand Tang poems, making it the spiritual hometown of Tang poetry. The Tang Dynasty Art Center in the ancient village is different from the large comprehensive museum. It focuses on the tea culture, wine culture and banquet culture of the Tang Dynasty. A cup of tea, a wine, a poem, and a book take us back to the prosperous Tang Dynasty that we yearn for. With its black wooden doors, earthen houses, looms, and porcelain pillows, the Nostalgic Memory Hall of Guanzhong Ancient Village evokes many beautiful childhood moments in people.

Suddenly, a fragrance lingers in the nose. It is not as strong as a rose, nor as light as a daisy, but it makes people feel comfortable and comfortable. When I look up, it turns out to be a stall of roasted chestnuts with sugar. . I bought a pack and the warm aroma spread throughout my body.

Walking through the ancient streets of Tangcun, it seems that the cries of various vendors are still floating in my ears, and the southern and northern accents come and go. They float from the streets and alleys of the distant countryside to the depths of people's hearts...
