According to legend, the name of Beidou comes from ancient folklore. Archaeological data show that the image of Beidou appeared as early as the Neolithic Age. The earliest books about Beidou came from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. At that time, astronomer Gander wrote eight volumes of astronomy and Shi Shenfu wrote eight volumes of astronomy. The latter two books are combined into Shi Gan Xing Jing, which is the earliest astronomical work in the world. The book records: "Beidou is the king of heaven, which is called the seven houses."
Beidou had a lofty position in ancient China. When technology was relatively backward, the ancients often used it to determine the season and identify the direction. The connection from Tian Xuan in Doukou to Shu Tian is extended five times, and you can see Polaris. The direction pointed by Polaris is due north. In addition, the Big Dipper appears in different directions in the sky in different seasons. According to its position and the direction of the barrel handle, the season can be determined. For example, when the handle of the bucket points to the east, it is spring in our country.
Beidou has many other meanings besides intuitively expressing Beidou. Let's have a look.
1, wine vessel
This statement originated from Qu Yuan's Nine Songs. Dong Jun: Cao Yu's arc falls, helping Beidou drink cinnamon pulp. There are many places about Beidou in Qu Zi's works, and this place is the most famous. The Big Dipper here is arranged in the shape of a bucket spoon, which is called a wine vessel. The poet took the Big Dipper in the sky as a cup and invited everything in the world to drink. This meaning is often quoted as an allusion by later generations, such as Li Bai's "Beidou drinking to persuade dragons to slap each other"; Xin Qiji's "Drinking helps Beidou, I am also a louse" and so on.
2, the emperor or the emperor's residence
This sentence comes from the Book of Jin: The Big Dipper is in the north of Qiu ... fighting for the image of a monarch, and it is also the master who gives orders. In ancient times, the Big Dipper was called the Emperor Car. It points due north and is located in the center of the sky, so the Big Dipper is usually considered as the place where the Emperor of Heaven lives. The feudal emperor claimed to be the master sent by the Emperor of Heaven, so he later used Beidou as a metaphor for the emperor or the emperor's residence. "Polaris is closer to me now than in spring, and your messengers from the south will never arrive." It is said that the emperor's place is far away in spring and cannot be reused.
3. Dojo
Taoist temple is the hat of Taoist priest. In China's ancient astronomical view and star worship, it is believed that the stars in the sky are closely related to human life and death. The Taoist classic "Zhouyi" contains the content of "carrying Beidou by stars". When Zhang Tianshi founded Taoism in the Han Dynasty, he named the Big Dipper, which worships Taoism, as Yuan Jun. Beidou is also shaped like a hat. The hat worn by Taoist priests after the Ming Dynasty is also called Beidou.
4. Metaphor is admired.
Many people should also know that this statement originated from "Ode to Han Yu in the New Tang Dynasty": "Self-healing is absent, and its learning is prevalent, and scholars admire it like Taishan Beidou." Because the Big Dipper is the brightest star group in the sky, it can guide people's direction, and here refers to people with high morality and high reputation, which can guide the younger generation. Chen Yi once wrote a poem "The sky is full of stars, Beidou lives in Yan 'an", which is about the admiration for revolutionary leaders.
5. Magazine publications
During the Republic of China, Beidou was a progressive publication. Ding Ling, editor-in-chief, is a writer of China Left-wing Writers' Union, published by Hufeng Bookstore, and 193 1 was established in Shanghai in September. The magazine actively carried out literary criticism and theoretical research, and published many works and essays of progressive intellectuals. Regrettably, in less than two years, the Kuomintang authorities banned Beidou on the charge of "fueling the red flame and shaking people's hearts."
6. Navigation system
When we modern people say Beidou, we often refer to the Beidou satellite navigation system independently developed by China. In order to meet the requirements of modern military and economic development, since 1980s, China has been actively exploring satellite navigation plans suitable for China's national conditions. After several generations of efforts, the program has launched more than 50 satellites, covering the whole world.
Beidou has been given different meanings in different times, either because of its image or because of its implication, from the name given by the ancients to the new symbol of the rise of the Chinese nation in modern times. Beidou culture has a long history and rich connotation, which almost runs through the whole development history of the Chinese nation.
The meaning will change. In fact, the seemingly eternal Big Dipper is not eternal. They are constantly changing, but this movement is relatively slow and cannot be observed by the naked eye. According to scientists' speculation, after about100000 years, the positions of these seven stars will change greatly, and they will no longer show the handle shape we see today. So everyone must take more beautiful photos for future generations to see. (End of the full text, thanks for reading. )
