Wei Zhi, a native of Julu County, was a statesman, thinker, writer and historian in the Tang Dynasty. He was called "a generation of celebrities" by later generations because of his outspoken suggestions and assistance in the great cause of "the rule of Zhenguan" initiated by Emperor Taizong. In the seventeenth year of Zhenguan, Wei Zhi died of illness. Official to Dr. Guanglu, whose name is Zheng Guogong, and posthumous title is "Wen Zhen". Keep the funeral simple. There is a text about vinegar Qin in Longcheng Notes in Tang Dynasty. Wei Zhi likes to make suggestions in court, which often embarrasses the emperor. One day, Li Shimin smiled and said to the ministers, "That goat's nose is stuck all day. I don't know if there is anything that can make him tempted. " The courtiers around Li Shimin replied, "Wei Zhi likes jealous celery."
The next day, Li Shimin gave a banquet, including three cups of vinegar celery. Wei Zhi saw it, his forefinger moved, and before the meal was finished, the tableware with vegetables bottomed out. Li Shimin said, "Look, look, you said you don't have any hobbies. Now I finally see it. " Wei Zhi, who was exposed, replied to Li Shimin: "The emperor likes doing nothing, and courtiers naturally dare not have any preferences. I just like this. " Li Shimin sighed for a long time.
