Under this influence, only the Mongolians in Tibetan Buddhism and Yunnan in Southern Buddhism spread Zen, and a number of Zen monks appeared one after another. Tell everyone that this Zen master is called Zhongfeng Mingben, a native of Hangzhou.
It is often said that since ancient times, a famous teacher has become a master, and his master is called Gao Fengyuan Miao Zen Master, who is a monk. The biggest feature of his old man's life is that he is a monk. We know that Buddhism means asceticism. In the West Tianmu Mountain, he was abruptly shut up for seventeen years, and he was also such an extraordinary gentleman in the Zen of the Song Dynasty.
Zen master Akimoto of Zhongfeng is the most outstanding disciple of this eminent monk. His personality is almost the same as that of his master. He was poor and famous all his life, but he was afraid to escape the fame in this world. You know, many big jungles of the government came to welcome him at that time, and his virtue inspired him. As a result, in order to avoid these fame and fortune, Zen master Akimoto did not have a fixed residence in Zhongfeng for more than 30 years.
Our Buddhism is impermanent. In the Buddha's time, that is to say, monks could not stay under a tree for more than three days. Therefore, Master Qiu Yuan of Zhongfeng sometimes lives on a boat, sometimes travels around the upper and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the banks of the Yellow River, and sometimes just finds a temple to stay temporarily. Everyone responded accordingly, got together to talk, and sometimes they were recognized and then left. So all the temples he built in Antang are called "magic temples".
We talked about buddhist nun again. I live in Baihua Temple now. An 'an is a typical folk self-organizing society, living and living in this Dojo. Generally speaking, temples were built by emperors. So because he traveled in the south of the Yangtze River, his popularity is very high, and such a grassroots folk popularization method has also been given a good reputation, called the ancient Buddha in the south of the Yangtze River.
Of course, when we hear that such a Zen master is detached from the outside world, he must be nervous and lifeless, but he is not the kind of ascetic who doesn't laugh at all. He also has the cool breeze and bright moon of Zen Buddhism, and it is also possible to overhaul the harmony of pedestrians.
In particular, he has great attainments in world literature and calligraphy, and can be said to be a spiritual leader respected by many princes and celebrities at that time. That is to say, when he receives all beings, in fact, all classes are comprehensive.
I want to mention Zhao Mengfu, a famous calligrapher. Zhao Mengfu has a deep relationship with his teachers and friends, and they often exchange letters, discuss Buddhism and exchange experiences.
Zen master Ming Ben also wrote him an article called Mianxue Fu, which was actually an exhortation and talk to him. He said that the ancients reached this realm of Taoism by learning, that is, the so-called Zen tea and Zen books were all blind, and the Zen poems and songs were all blind, true and indeed blind.
But he said that later people were no longer in their time and had a reputation for learning Tao. But in fact, they are only interested in talent, and they are not really enlightened. So he wrote this to encourage Zhao Mengfu, fearing that it would become his obstacle. It can be said that both of them are spiritual confidants. There is also a very advanced legal friendship in this world!
Zen master Zhongfeng Mingben left many quotations, anthologies and even thousands of poems in his life, which had a very far-reaching and extensive influence on later Zen, especially Pure Land Sect and Amitabha Buddha.
He wrote 108 a poem about pure land, which can be said to praise the pure land individually and partially, and urged the world to survive in the west. Read you a song, he said, the big dream house can't, and everything is empty, so there are thousands of differences everywhere. Cause and effect are not chaotic. Looking back on self-separation. Is to read amitabha and read Buddha accordingly. Thinking about reopening glistening. In the future, Qibaochi will be transformed into a lotus flower. Therefore, Baihua Putuo Mountain is also called Hua Xiaobai.
