According to scientists' research on unearthed fossils, the four elephants were once widely distributed in swampy low-lying areas in North China and Central Plains, but in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, they began to disappear from the wild and became a garden animal. The last group of four elephants was kept in Nanhaizi Royal Hunt Garden, six miles south of Beijing. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, only 120 Yingwubangs Manor had released four elephants. 198 1 year, China sent a scientific delegation to Wubang Temple Manor to inspect the "four unlike". Lord tavistock, the owner of the manor, has repeatedly told the international scientific community that he hopes that one day the "four unlike" can return to China to settle down. During the period of 1985, with the assistance of the international nature conservation organization, the first batch of "Four Elephants" donated to China by Ubons Manor in England was airlifted to Beijing on August 24th and kept in Nanhaizi Elk Garden, where the ancestors of "Four Elephants" lived for generations. After 100 years of displacement, the "four elephants" finally returned to their hometown. Until August 1986, 39 elk provided by London Zoo returned to their hometown and were released in Dafeng City, and their figure reappeared in China. Through the unremitting efforts of researchers, the number of elk has now multiplied to more than 500, making it the largest wild population of elk in the world.
