Demon Ji's face is like a flower with dew, and Yushu flows in the backyard.

Their faces are like flowers with crystal rain and dew, as beautiful, colorful and elegant as Yushu.

Creative background:

During the Southern Dynasties, Chen Houzhu lived a luxurious life, did not ask about political affairs, and loved sweet words. But his good days are as short as flowers in the back garden of Yushu. In 589, less than seven years (582-589), Sui soldiers entered Jiankang (now Nanjing), and Chen Houzhu was captured and died in Luoyang. The flowers in the back garden of Yushu are called "the voice of national subjugation".

Appreciate:

Palace poetry is a smile dedicated to women. It is beautiful and gorgeous, but its content is not very desirable. However, in the process of perfecting China's poems, palace poems also played a considerable role. What they sing is only a form of beauty, so it is natural to pursue gorgeous rhetoric and neat sentence patterns. This poem embodies this tendency. The melody of music is sad, the content of poetry is frivolous, and the theme is only three words-writing beauty.

"The forest is on the shelves, and the new makeup is very beautiful." The first sentence describes the environment, and depicts the beauty and exquisiteness of the harem with three images of "Li Yu", "Fang Lin" and "Gog", which shows the superiority of this group of beautiful women in life. Li Yu's tall buildings are hidden in fragrant gardens, setting off the beauty of the characters with the beauty of the environment. "Singing" refers to the Lin Chun, Qi Jie and Wang Xian three pavilions, where people to be praised by the author will gather. The second sentence is a preliminary description of this group of beautiful women, saying that they are born with beauty, and after new decoration, they have the feminine beauty of "caring about the city first and then the country". These two sentences have no characteristics in scenery writing and writing, which are vague but not wonderful. Add fuzzy "new makeup" and you can turn them into a full-fledged eight-legged palace poem, which is suitable for any woman.

"Yinghu was embarrassed to go in, and greeted him with a smile." Seeing the various modes of driving from the concubines, they wrote their liveliness and loveliness, vividly depicting the gorgeous state of the beauty in an instant, which was quite charming. When they came out of the tall cupboard, they stopped at the door, just like the protagonist in Beijing opera when he appeared. Her beautiful colors set off the door, and her graceful figure seemed to condense there. Although the word "Ningjiao" is a bit abstract, it can still convey the expression of a beautiful woman standing still, and it is quite well carved. "Smiling at each other outside the curtain" is a description of their modality of welcoming the late master. Every time the deceased master went to see them, they always came out of the inner room and greeted them with kindness and elegance. The happy smile when greeting is in contrast to the "no progress" when calling, and the romantic son of heaven is even more overjoyed. The first sentence is about static beauty, and the second sentence is about dynamic beauty, thus depicting female images with charming posture.

"Demon Ji's face is like a flower with dew", and enchanting beauty's face is like a flower with dew, in bud, gorgeous and lovely, full of youthful vitality and femininity. "Yushu Flows to Illuminate the Backyard" is the essence of the whole poem, with excellent metaphor and care. "Yushu" takes care of "posture", saying that a beauty's posture is as graceful as a well-proportioned tree. "streamer" takes care of "reflecting the tiger", saying that the beauty's look is like flowing brilliance, flickering. Although flowers and Yushu are two commonly used metaphors, they are expressive, dazzling and ecstatic after being vividly described. The whole poem comes to an abrupt end, echoing the "high pavilion" with the "backyard", making the structure compact, and at the same time making this hymn reach its climax with a warm atmosphere.

From this perspective, this poem is just a palace poem describing women. Although its content itself is not enough to praise, it is not enough to be deeply degraded. As far as artistic expression is concerned, this poem has more merits. It does not describe women in a complicated and meticulous way, and its words are by no means vulgar. It only describes the qualifications and modality of beautiful concubines, trying to omit the "form" of beauty and write the "god" of beauty. Therefore, although it is a palace style, it also purifies the palace style to a certain extent, which is a breakthrough in Chen's poetry creation as a poet.

About the author:
