This poem is based on the story of Empress Chen of the Southern Dynasty to satirize the rulers at that time. "Spring is always there in the country of water, and the night is not cold in Taicheng" means that the Chen country under the pressure of the Sui soldiers seemed to be in a state of chaos. In the peaceful spring scene, the banquets, singing and dancing in Taicheng went on very late every night; "Lihua was favored, and Jiang Ling was holding the cup and plate." It means that all the beauties were deeply favored, and the officials did not care about political affairs. The person holding the cup and plate at the banquet; "After the banquet, the bright hall was ruined, and the poem became a treasure torch." It means that after the extravagant banquet, the hall where the banquet was held was damaged, and the huge candle was almost burned out after the gorgeous poem was written; " When the soldiers come, I have a plan, "Golden Wells and Jade Hook Rails" is an allusion describing that time: The Sui soldiers destroyed the city, and all the officials in the Chen Dynasty were scattered. Only two ministers accompanied the king, urging him to sit in the palace and look serious. Chen Shubao, who was eager to save his life, could no longer care about many things. He said, "I can't catch the sharp edge. I have my own plan." He led Zhang Guifei and Kong Guiren out of the palace in a hurry and ran towards the well. The two ministers talked about integrity, but their remonstrances were ineffective. They "covered the well with their bodies" and failed to stop Chen Shubao from jumping into the well.
