What are the poems written by Sima Qian and where did Sima Qian travel?
Besides Historical Records, Sima Qian also wrote eight poems in Bao Ren An Shu, but most of them have not been handed down. Only this poem "Ode to Sorrow for the Past" exists in Volume 30 of Lei Ju of Literature and Art edited by Ou Yangxun and others in the Tang Dynasty. The text is about 200 words, so it is impossible to verify whether it is the full text. Since the early Han Dynasty, many scholars have failed to achieve their goals, so they often lament the untimely works. Before Sima Qian, Dong Zhongshu had written "The Scholars' Fu", and since then "The Scholars' Fu" has become a common topic in literary works. Although Sima Qian's fu is short, his ideas are clear. One is lamenting that "a scholar is not born", and the other is unwilling to be "unknown". The former, like other people's similar works, reflects the general mood of literati at that time; The latter is Sima Qian's own unique love song, which is closely related to Bao Ren An Shu. Therefore, this article should also be made after the punishment.
