Whole poem:
The monarch and his subjects are willing to bend their knees, and one son is sad.
I'm going to give up, I'm the king of the north!
Donate the remains to repay the ancestors, scratching their heads and crying.
If there is anyone who fears, who is Han Yun dead?
Both the monarch and the minister are willing to surrender, and only one person is sad. What I gave up in those years has passed, but the reputation of the North King is still there. Sacrifice one's life to repay the ancestors who built their achievements, look up at the sky sadly and cry bitterly. As long as there are heroes with the heart of the Han Dynasty, who can say that the Han Dynasty has perished?
outline
Liu Chen (? —263), born in Zhuoxian County, Zhuo Jun (now Zhuozhou, Hebei Province), was the grandson of Emperor Liu Bei of the Shu Dynasty and the fifth son of the late Shu Dynasty ruler Liu Chan.
In June of the second year of Jing Yao (259), Liu Chan made Liu Chen the North King.
In the winter of six years (263), Wei captured Wargo's army at Mianzhuguan, accepted Qiao Zhou's suggestion and prepared to surrender before Wei Jun attacked. Liu Chen said angrily: "The country is at the end of its road, and there will naturally be a disaster of national subjugation. At this time, it is time for the father and son, the monarch and the minister to make a final effort together and die for the mountain of Shu Han, so that we can also go to see the first emperor! " Liu Chan refused to listen to him and still surrendered to Wargo.
Liu Chen felt very painful and indignant for the country's demise, so Liu Chen came to the Zhaolie Temple where Liu Bei died and wept bitterly. Then he killed his wife and son, and then committed suicide.
