2. Sentences about cause and effect
In ancient India, the debate about cause and effect can be divided into four categories, which Buddhism calls heretical four kinds of persistence, or simply four kinds of persistence: (1) Evil is born of evil, that is, the ability of everything to return to nature. (2) If there is no reason, there is a result, that is, the existing phenomenon world is recognized as a result, but it is difficult to explore the reason of this result, so the reason of this result is denied. (3) Because there is no cause, there is effect, that is, the existing phenomenon world is identified as cause, but the result of this cause is difficult to explore, so the result of this cause is denied. (4) No cause and no result, that is, no cause and effect.
In addition to the above, there are two kinds of causal theories in ancient Indian ideological circles besides Buddhism, namely: (1) causal theory, which claims that the phenomenon world displayed by the result must be inherent in cause, which is the thought of Brahmanism and number theory school; In other words, cause and effect are equal in nature because there are often consequences. (2) The general ideological circle and the anti-Brahmanism triumphalists hold that karma is fruitless. That is to say, the phenomenon world can only be born by the combination of many independent fundamental elements; That is to say, it is considered that cause is not necessarily a result, but it must be a combination of many causes to produce a result, so the nature of cause and effect is not equal. This theory can also be called causal theory.
Buddhist causality can be roughly divided into two systems. Taking Hinayana as a typical example, the theory of four causes, six causes and five fruits is put forward. Mahayana is represented by only knowing Sect, with four causes, ten causes and five fruits as the main contents of its causality theory. In the interpretation of the four causes and five fruits, the views of big and small parties are also very different. As far as intellectuals are concerned, they believe that everything in the universe is realized by seeds hidden in Ariel's knowledge, and the transformation of seeds into the law of existence must be realized through the causal relationship of "three laws and two aspects" such as "seeds generate electricity", "current smokes seeds" and "seeds generate seeds". Among them, the relationship between seeds is causal and asynchronous; The relationship between current seed yield and current smoked seeds is causal and simultaneous. In addition, among the six causes and five fruits, the relationship between different ripe causes and different ripe fruits, as well as the relationship between similar causes, repeated causes and equal flow fruits, are all causal and synchronic. As for the relationship between all causes, corresponding causes and actual results, it is causal simultaneity. The relationship between cause and additional effect is the same as that of simultaneous cause and result. In addition, the relationship between similar cause and equal flow fruit is based on the law of self-category, which leads to equal flow fruit, so it is called self-category causality.
