Zhangye Danxia landform is the only compound area of Danxia landform and colorful hilly landscape in China. The landscape area mainly includes Binggou Danxia Scenic Area and Colorful Danxia Scenic Area, which are about 12km apart. Binggou Danxia Scenic Spot is mainly distributed in Le Kang Township and Baiyin Township of Sunan County, Zhangye City, and colorful Danxia Scenic Spot is mainly distributed in Nijiaying Township of Linze County. Taking Baiyin Township, Sunan Yugur Autonomous County as the center, the altitude is between 2000 meters and 3800 meters, the east-west length is about 40 kilometers, and the north-south width is about 5 ~ 10 kilometers. Thousands of cliffs and peaks all show bright colors of Danxia and reddish brown, which set off their own charm and show the wonderful Danxia landform of "color like flowers". Danxia in the Qilian Mountains of Zhangye is mainly composed of red gravel, sandstone and mudstone, with obvious impression of arid and semi-arid climate, characterized by staggered bedding, steep walls, vertical joints and rich colors.
