Taohuatan Scenic Area is located in Chencun Town, Jingxian County, on the upper reaches of Qingyi River, Anhui Province. Taohuatan is 40 kilometers away from Jingxian County, on the upper reaches of Qingyi River, between Zhai and Wan'er Villages.
Chencun is more famous for the Peach Blossom Pond beside the village. It is said that in 775 AD, the famous poet Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty was attracted by the peach blossoms and thousands of hotels here, and came to the Peach Blossom Pond at the invitation of Wang Lun. , left many popular poems. "A Gift to Wang Lun" was written by Li Bai on his return from swimming in the Peach Blossom Pond, and was left on the ferry where Wang Lun bid farewell to Li Bai. The sentence "The water in the Peach Blossom Pond is a thousand feet deep, not as deep as Wang Lun's gift to me" is still widely recited today.

It originates from Shitai County and the northern foot of Huangshan Mountain. After the confluence of Shuxi and Maxi, it is called Qingyi River. It runs diagonally across the county from southwest to northeast, with Hehe River, Zha River, Lian River, Xiahu River, Huishui, Mu River, Gufeng River and Qin River flowing through 11 villages and towns, ending at Matou Village (formerly known as Matou Village). It exits 1 km north of Matou Town, passes through Nanling County and Xuanzhou City, and ends at Wuhu before entering the Yangtze River.
The county has a length of 75 kilometers, a river channel of 150 to 250 meters wide and a depth of 2 to 10 meters. The rainfall collection area within the territory is 2,029 square kilometers. The deep pools in the riverbed are of mud-sand type, while the floodplains are of pebble-sand type. The Qingyi River is a rainy river, and its water level and flow vary with rainfall. According to hydrological data, the highest water level is 34.63 meters, the lowest water level is 27.25 meters, and the flow rate is 5,600 cubic meters/second. It is the largest river in Jingxian County.
