Appreciation of Master Yueshan's Buddhist Zen poem "This Day in My Life is an Eye-opener"

This day opened my eyes.

Master Guo Shan [1]

I went to Guanzhai on the Qingfeng Tower, which was an eye-opener.

Fang Xin thought that he would not bring the future from Green Ridge two years ago.

Suddenly a ray of sunshine came in.

Let my mind and vision suddenly open up.

Ah! I see!

I don't believe the Zen advocated by the founder of Buddhism in those days.

Not imported from India.

But what everyone already has.

Analysis and appreciation

Volume 19 of the Record of Fingering the Moon records: "Because the king of Fujian invited him to stay in Qingfeng Tower for a long time, he lifted his eyes and suddenly saw the sun, and suddenly he was enlightened. He said,' Going to Qingfeng Tower to see the house is an eye-opener today, and it is far from an ordinary year to believe things, and he will not take the future from Qingfeng Ridge.' "

When Buddhism came from India, it was not the introduction of India's unique "looking straight at the face", but inspired China people to "get to the point when enlightened" and see nature directly! Everyone has his own Buddha nature, as long as someone reminds you: "That's it!" You will see. You don't get it. You had it before, but you just didn't know it.

If Buddha nature does not exist in the first place, it must be accumulated and strengthened by practice. This concept of practice will inevitably lead to the belief that practice is a big project that wastes time.

When Buddhism came, he said, "I am convinced that the same is true in life." This is only a little difference on the ground, but it has caused the transformation of the whole practice system. It seems that a man used to use a rocket launcher as an iron bar, but suddenly he learned how to use it, and his firepower was immediately ten thousand times stronger!

Zen, although an ancient teaching method, is a stream that everyone is present and transcends time. No matter whether Zen is popular or not, people who want to transcend their troubles and desires can always find "Zen" in their own hearts without false demands. You already have it! You don't have to ask for Buddha or God's reward.
