The late emperor Yang-ti invited Zhang Lihua to dance "Flowers in the Garden of Yushu", so he took this opportunity to ridicule Yang-ti's desire for pleasure and ease. The flower in the back garden of Yushu, the Yuefu song named "Wu Sheng" and Chen Houzhu's new song are regarded as the voice of national subjugation by later generations.

The famous Chang 'an Sui Palace,
Locked in the haze;
But want to put the distant Yangzhou,
As the base of imperial industry.
If it wasn't for Destiny,
The jade seal belongs to the posture of dragon and phoenix, Li Yuan;
The brocade dragon boat of Emperor Yang Di,
It was supposed to sail all over the sky.
Now, in the rotten grass,

Yang Liuzhi on the Sui Dyke,

This is also an ancient poem about history. Although it's the Sui Palace, it's actually a satire on Yang-ti's debauchery and national subjugation. The first couplet hits the point, writing that Chang 'an Palace is locked in the haze, while Emperor Yang Di blindly pursues pleasure and wants to make Jiangdu his emperor's home. Julian didn't write that Jiangdu was the emperor's home, but that if the emperor's decree hadn't fallen into the hands of Li Yuan, Emperor Yang Di wouldn't be satisfied with swimming in Jiangdu, and the dragon boat might be able to travel all over the world. The neck couplet wrote the fact that Yang-ti cheated twice. First, I once asked for the number of fireflies in the Jinghua Palace in Luoyang, and I traveled to Shan Ye at night, all over the rock valley; In Jiangdu, a firefly garden was built to let fireflies fly around for fun. One is to open a canal, invite people to offer a willow and a silk, and the shore is full of willows. The author skillfully uses the words "nothing today" and "nothing in the past", implying that fireflies existed that day and crows did not exist in the past dusk, rendering the bleak scene after the national subjugation. Wei Lian vividly used the allusions to Chen Meng, and revealed the theme of debauchery and national subjugation in a hypothetical rhetorical tone. Chen is a monarch who is famous for his debauchery and national subjugation in history. After he was defeated by the Sui Dynasty, he and Prince Yang Guang became very familiar. Later, when I traveled to Jiangdu, I saw the dead Chen and his beloved Zhang Lihua in my dream, and asked Zhang to dance a song "Flowers in the Garden of Yushu". This song was written by Chen, reflecting the debauchery of court life, and was denounced by later generations as the voice of national subjugation. The poet mentioned this matter here to show that Yang-ti made the same mistake as Chen Houzhu, and as a result, his country became extinct and he was proud of the world. The whole poem is written flexibly and implicitly, with bright colors and sonorous syllables.

Sui Dyke was branded with the historical brand of Yang Di. Emperor Yang Di was a notorious bad king and tyrant in history. He tried his best to dredge the river, calling himself a "tiger", headstrong and arrogant. The condemnation of the poet Zhang Hu is undisguised. Standing on the Sui Dyke, Emperor Yang Di used to be extravagant and wasteful, and so is it now. "The brocade sail goes to the east and does not belong to Japan" also echoes the situation described in "Talking about the Sea in Ancient and Modern Times" (volume 122) that "one after another, thousands of miles away, from the girder to Huaikou, the brocade sail passes by, and the fragrance smells hundreds of miles", which leads to the demise of the country. "Originally, the mountains and rivers spread one hundred and twenty, and Zhong Ding was three thousand." He lamented the emptiness of hegemony and the change of dynasties in an ironic tone, showing his helplessness in lamenting the failure of his career. However, the poet is not only mourning, but also facing the reality. "Taking history as a mirror" shows that the emperors of the present dynasties have stepped on the mistakes of the ancient dynasties and are worried that the present dynasties will step into the abyss of extinction. Among the emperors in the middle and late Tang Dynasty, except Li Ang, a scholar, there were still some plans to control extravagance and frugality. Other emperors, like Otawa's romantic emperors in the Southern Dynasties, lived a corrupt and extravagant life, and devoted all their energy to the enjoyment of reality, such as debauchery, dogs and horses. Therefore, in the face of such a worrying reality, I can't bear to look back on the tragic history of Yang Di's south tour of Jiangdu, indulging in debauchery day and night, and finally being hanged in Jiangdu Palace. But the poet at this time is just a grassroots, humble and powerless. It is impossible to turn the tide and save the declining world. A high sense of historical responsibility can only be turned into a helpless sigh and deep sorrow, which can only be "emptiness and sorrow".
Based on reality, Zhang Hu, a poet, expressed his feelings of rise and fall, but also showed his deep sympathy and concern for the country and the people, which reflected his feelings of worrying about the country and the people from one side. He Chao once commented that the second part of Li Shangyin's Sui Palace "cut the palace brocade all over the world, half for the mud and half for the sail", saying that "taking the brocade sail, things will change, the land and water will be barren, and the people will suffer, as at present." This comment used to comment on Zhang Hu's "Suidi Homesickness" is equally accurate and to the point. The poet's deep concern for the sufferings of people's livelihood is profound and increasingly obvious. From this perspective, Zhang Hu not only pays special attention to the rise and fall of history, but also has deep concern and sympathy for people's livelihood. He not only lamented the ruins, but also mourned and blamed them. More importantly, he faced the reality, reflected some social and political conditions of the dynasty "taking history as a mirror", worried about the gradual decline and demise of the dynasty, and showed a high sense of historical responsibility, mission and a certain degree of critical spirit.

This is a poem in which the author has been injured, wandering and making no achievements, and it is a generous and sad song. This poem begins with the contradiction between ideal and opportunity. Although he has Guo Zhen's ambition, he has no chance. Couplets express the feelings of wandering life. Couplets are written about the loneliness and helplessness in real life. At the end of Lian wanted to drown his sorrows by drinking, but it was not in the early Tang and Zhou Dynasties. When he set off, he was left out in Xinfeng Hotel. Later, however, he was appreciated by the emperor and was promoted to a high position.
