Thoughts on Visiting Du Fu's Hometown

Appreciating Du Fu and Facing Suffering Face to Face —— Thoughts on Visiting Du Fu's Hometown

My previous understanding of Du Fu came from the introduction of China's books, and I knew that he was a realistic poet with noble feelings of caring for the country and the people. After visiting Du Fu's hometown, my understanding of Du Fu has increased a lot.

When we were babbling, we began to recite Du Fu's poems, from "two orioles singing green willows, a row of egrets soaring into the sky" to "reading thousands of books, writing like a god", from "the wine and meat in Zhumen stink, the road freezes to death" to "the poor people in the world are happy from the ground up", which is influenced by Du Fu's well-known poems.

Therefore, it is of pilgrimage significance for me to come to Gongyi, the birthplace of Du Fu.

Walking into the gate of Du Fu's hometown park, a poetic avenue stretches forward, and head on, a bronze statue of Du Fu with a height of 10 meter stands there, overlooking us. Behind the statue, the Sihe River flows slowly. It is said that Du Fu often played here when he was a child.

Through the majestic Dugong Temple, we came to the next cave in Bijia Mountain. The entrance of the cave is a brick wall, which looks simple, but it is the most precious relic of the whole park, because this is Du Fu's birth kiln, and it is said that Du Fu was born in this small cave. The little hole is full of mystery. Did Du Fu sleep soundly in it? Or recite poems under the oil lamp?

In the poet exhibition area, we visited the upper courtyard, Zhuang Garden, Sanyoutang, Garden, Wanhui Garden, statues and scenes where Du Fu grew up as a child, reappearing the growth process of poets and saints and the journey of wandering around the world.

Then, we visited the poetry exhibition area. This exhibition area not only displays Du Fu's poems through three-dimensional sculptures and murals, but also uses high-tech multimedia means to interpret Du Fu's poems. We were in it, listening to the commentator's wonderful explanation, as if we had just traveled and followed Du Fu through a bumpy life.

We stood still and looked at the projection: a strong wind swept away the thatch on the roof of Du Fu's thatched cottage, and the thatch that fell to the ground was taken away by naughty children. Du Fu could only sigh helplessly on his cane. The ear echoed with a rich baritone recitation: "In August and autumn, the wind roared and rolled up three hairs in my family ... There are thousands of spacious buildings, which greatly protected the poor in the world from all smiles and storms!" Vivid music, poems and paintings show the rich connotation of Autumn Wind Breaking the Cottage, which makes us feel the same, and we can't help but be moved by the poet's melancholy heart and feelings of worrying about the country and the people.

After learning about Du Fu's tragic experience in Chang 'an for ten years, we were moved by it and recited the poet's famous sentence: "A leopard cannot change his spots, but a leopard cannot change his spots. Petals fall like tears, and lonely birds sing their sorrows ... "Although we may not really understand the connotation of this poem, the poet's beautiful feelings of loving the country and caring for the family deeply touched us.

Du Fu lived in the Tang Dynasty from prosperity to decline. When I was a teenager, my family was superior and I lived a stable and prosperous life. Later, Du Fu had a rough life because of his bad career and war, and finally died in a foreign country. His experience reminds me of a sentence by romain rolland: "Only real suffering can disenchant people and face life. It is worrying about making them great. " Du Fu faced up to suffering, became more frustrated and brave in adversity, and grew up in suffering. While we appreciate his outstanding talent and his beautiful poems, can't his experience bring us the same enlightenment?
