The old bridge was originally named Zhengzhou Yellow River Bridge on Pinghan Railway, the mother of the Yellow River Bridge. It is the first railway bridge built on the Yellow River, which is a single-track railway bridge. It was built by an engineering company in Belgium at that time, and the project leader was called Shado. In the 26th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty, the bridge site was chosen at 1900. After the bridge site was selected, engineers from Germany, the United States and Italy were hired to conduct on-site survey. 190 1 survey completed, 1902 started design, 1903 started construction, 18 started construction.
The old Yellow River Railway Bridge is 30 15 meters long, which was the longest bridge before the founding of the People's Republic of China. When the old bridge was completed, there were 102 holes, including 26 holes at the northern end, 24 holes at the southern end and 52 holes at the middle beach, with a span of 2 1.5 meters. The bridge foundation adopts cast steel pipe piles with spiral wings with inner diameter of 30cm, outer diameter of 35cm and lower end diameter of 120cm.
The bridge was also damaged many times in the war. TheNo. 1 bridge holes located at the north and south ends of the bridge were filled during the repair, and the number of bridge holes was reduced to 100, and the total length of the bridge became 2951m. In June 1969 and 10, reinforced concrete slabs were added to the deck of the old bridge, which can be put in one direction at regular intervals to facilitate the traffic in expressway. 1987 was demolished, leaving only five piers on the original site as cultural relics.
Zhengzhou Yellow River Railway Bridge is a double-track railway bridge. Located in the downstream of the old bridge, 500 meters and 375 meters away from both ends of the old bridge respectively. Construction started on May 1958 and was completed and opened to traffic on April 20th 1960.
The newly-built Yellow River Railway Bridge has a total length of 2,889.8 meters, divided into 7 1 span, and each span is 40 meters long. Double track * * * uses 142 hole to support steel plate beam, and cantilever bridge erecting machine lifts the whole hole from both sides. Both the pier and the foundation adopt two reinforced concrete pipe columns with a diameter of 3.6m, and the buried depth is about 30m. The pier and abutment are directly built on the pipe column, and the top is connected with a cross beam to form a portal rigid frame. The total weight of steel beams of the whole bridge is12,943 tons, and the concrete consumption is 60,730 cubic meters.
After the new Yellow River Railway Bridge was put into operation, it was found that the riverbed was silted and the water level increased year by year. In order to improve the clearance under the bridge, the ramp steel beam is leveled at 1976. In order to reduce the influence of coastal circulation scouring on the pier at the northern end of the bridge, at 1978 and 1979, 60 meters upstream from platform 0 to pier 7 at the northern end of the bridge and 100 meters, piles composed of reinforced concrete bored piles with a diameter of 1.0 meters are added to dissipate energy and relieve water potential.
From April 2008 1 1, Zhengzhou Yellow River Railway Bridge was renamed as "Jiayingguan Yellow River Railway Bridge", which was the "Yellow Committee" for managing the Yellow River in Qing Dynasty. The name of Xinqiao highlights the splendid history and culture of the Central Plains and the long history of harnessing the Yellow River in China.
