Cheng Hao (1032-1085), also known as Mr. Mingdao, was born in Luoyang.
In the second year of Jiayou's reign (1057), he became a Jinshi and was transferred to the chief registrar of Hubei County. At the beginning of Xining, he was appointed Prince Zhongyun and Supervisor Yushi Lixing. Due to political disagreements with Wang Anshi, he was demoted to Zhenning Army Signature and knew Fugou County. Zhe Zong was established and called Zong Zhengcheng, but he died before he could go.
He is a famous Neo-Confucianist and one of the five Neo-Confucian scholars in the Northern Song Dynasty. Together with his younger brother Cheng Yi, he is known as "Er Cheng".
