What I represent: me.
Wu (Pinyin: wú, yá, yú, yù) is a first-level standard Chinese character (commonly used character). This character first appeared in bronze inscriptions of the Western Zhou Dynasty. The ancient character shape comes from the mouth and has five tones. I means "I" and "my" and is used as a first-person pronoun. In the bronze inscriptions of the Western Zhou Dynasty, "wu" is often used to express defense, that is, to defend or resist. It is also used as a personal name, but there is no exact example of the use of the first-person pronoun.
Phonetic characters. "Wu" consists of two parts, the upper part is "五" which represents the pronunciation, and the lower part is "口" which represents the speaker himself, which is also the meaning conveyed by this word. "I" can be written in two different ways: traditional and simplified. Before the Spring and Autumn Period, it was mostly written in the traditional style, with double fives arranged up and down. In the Warring States period, there were double fives written side by side.
Since the Qin and Han Dynasties, most writing has been in simplified form, and its evolution can be divided into two ways: one is based on the structure and shape of ancient characters, and the "five" comes from two crossed oblique strokes. One official script was transformed into an oblique pen and a horizontal fold, which was used in regular script in later generations.
The basic meaning of this word is "我" as a first-person pronoun. This word was used more frequently in ancient Chinese first-person pronouns, but was later replaced by "I". "I" was only used as a classical Chinese vocabulary. Retained in literature books.
