1. The eight basic strokes of calligraphy are dot, horizontal, vertical, left, back, hook, pick, and fold. Master these basic writing methods, no matter how the font changes, it will be ever-changing. Without departing from its origin, it is more convenient for us to copy and study calligraphy.
2. The basic form of a point is a pointed head, a rounded tail, a flat belly, and a rounded back. The pen should be pointed when you start writing, and then spread the pen tip down to both sides with increasing force until you reach the lower part. Lift the tip of the pen, twist it toward the back, and quickly remove the seal from the lower abdomen.
3. Horizontal strokes are used a lot. Basically, the head is square and the tail is round, and the middle is slightly thinner. The brush tip goes backwards from right to left. The middle part lifts the pen slightly. At the end, lifts the pen tip and lowers it to the right. Twist, then quickly pull back to the right.
4. There are basically two types of vertical strokes: the hanging-dew vertical and the hanging-pin vertical. They should be written straight and powerfully. First, the tip of the pen is upward, and the stroke is slightly tilted. The tip of the pen is twisted slightly, and then downward, reaching the end, the tip is slightly raised, and then closed to the left.
5. When writing, the tail is slightly thicker and the posture is more elegant. First, you have to go up against the wind and place the pen at an angle. After adjusting the tip of the pen, slowly lower it, and then quickly strike out when you reach the tail.
6. The strokes should show twists and turns. A stroke has ups and downs. There is one fold from the head to the stem, one fold from the stem to the feet, and the last fold is from the feet to the tip.
7. When writing the hook, write vertically first. When drawing out the hook, lift it up slightly, let the pen tip gather together, then lower it and push it out to the left.
8. The stroke is similar to the reverse stroke. Start against the wind, place the pen at an angle, twist and adjust the tip of the pen to draw quickly to the right.
9. The fold is relatively simple, consisting of horizontal and vertical strokes.
