Yu Youren, a native of Jingyang, Shaanxi, was born in Sanyuan, Xianyang in 1879. He is a veteran of the Kuomintang, a democratic revolutionary, a famous poet and a master of calligraphy. He is also known as "the contemporary sage of grass". President Mao Zedong once recognized Mr. Yu Youren as a calligraphy teacher.
