Hard hair is made from the hair of animals with hard hair, such as wolves and mice. Wolf hair is commonly used when drawing rocks, such as blue bamboo pen.
Double-sided brush is a combination of hard and soft, moderate hard and soft, and widely used. Usually it is a mixture of wolf hair and wool, such as a big white cloud pen and a brown pen.
Brushes also come in different sizes. When painting Chinese painting, you need to practice calligraphy with different pens. Beginners had better use Yang Hao and double brushes.
