The whole TV series has ups and downs, and the plot is exciting. Yan Zhenqing's great-grandfather Yan had already observed Wu Zetian's eyes when he was there. In order to maintain the orthodoxy of the Tang Dynasty, he wrote to urge the abolition of Wuhou and was finally killed by Wu Zetian. Before his death, he left a family motto of "learning without being an official", which became the life principle of the Yan family.
After Huang Wu's death, Tang Zhongzong revived the Tang Dynasty and recruited students from all over the world. Yan Zhenqing's father, Yan Weizhen, and his uncle, Yan Sunyuan, both took part in the imperial examination and worked for the imperial court. However, he was weak, autocratic after Wei, and Yan Weizhen tried his best to remonstrate with the emperor and abolish Wei, and was finally destroyed by Wei.
