This poem is from Jiang Baishi's Ode to the Lantern Festival. The full text is as follows: The honored guests look at the Imperial Street with a hook curtain. When the treasures in the city come for a while, there is no way to go in front of the curtain, and it is difficult to refuse to return without money.
Jiang Baishi Jiang Kui (1155-1221): Zi Zhang Yao, a native of Poyang, Jiangxi Province, was named "Baishi Taoist" because he lived in Tiaoxi Village in the south of Wucheng County, Huzhou, and was adjacent to Yangshan Baishi Cave.
Jiang Kui was a famous poet and musician in the Southern Song Dynasty. He is versatile, good at poetry and lyrics, good at calligraphy, can play the flute and piano, and is proficient in music. His father was a local official in the Song Dynasty, but when he was a teenager, his father died. He has been living in his sister's house in Hanyang for nearly 20 years. When Jiang Baishi was young, he was brilliant, his lyrics were excellent, and he was proficient in melody, so his lyrics and music were unique, and he also had unique research on music theory. His handwriting is also good, but he failed many times, so he was frustrated all his life, wandering the rivers and lakes and making friends with poets. Yang Wanli, Fan Chengda and Xin Qiji, the famous poets at that time, all attached great importance to him and gave him a lot of help economically. Jiang Kui often lives in their home, too. When Jiang Kui was a guest at Fan Chengda's house, Fan was old and retired, and there were many musicians and singers at home. I lived in Fan's house for a few days, mainly writing songs and composing music for Fan to enjoy. Dimfragrance and thin shadow were made at this time. It is said that Fan Chengda was very satisfied with these two songs and gave him Xiaohong, a singer with two colors and one art. Jiang Baishi took Xiaohong home and passed by Suzhou. At the end of the song, people dispersed, passing Songling Road and looking back at the 14 th Bridge of Yanbo. "Jiang Baishi's poems are unique in the Southern Song Dynasty, and his ci attainments are higher. His main contribution in the history of music is that he left the next six volumes of Songs of the Taoist White Stone, including his own self-written and self-directed songs, ancient songs and lyrics. Representative songs include Yangzhou Slow, Apricot Blossom Sky Shadow, Thin Shadow, Dimfragrance and so on.
