Zhang Lingfu died in the Menglianggu Battle of the Liberation War on May 16, 1947 at the age of 44. He left this last letter when he died. Avoiding politics and just talking about calligraphy, judging from this piece of Meng Lianggu's last pen and his ink that can be seen now, Zhang Lingfu's attainments in calligraphy are by no means ordinary.
