Three steles of Confucius Temple

From the Eastern Han Dynasty 153 to 169, it took 16 years before and after, and three Lu Xiang, Yi Ying, Han Yi and Chen Shi, took the lead in writing the memorial on the related matters of worshipping the Confucius, which is close to the current official documents for instructions. After the job was done, it was proposed to record merit and carve monuments, that is, Han Li's "Yi Ying Monument" and "Chen Shi"

They are:

1. A.D. 153, Lu took the lead in asking for an addendum, that is, to increase the financial establishment, set up an institution-Baishi soldier history (equivalent to the organizer of the present martyrs cemetery and public sacrifice activities), and selected Confucius descendants to hold this post, from which we can read the importance of family education. Family education is an important cradle of talents and one of the important criteria for selecting and employing people.

2. In A.D. 156, Lv Xiang and Han Yi took the lead in asking for sacrificial utensils (such as articles used for public sacrifice activities now, or utensils extended to hold related meetings).

3. A.D. 169, Chen Shi, a native of Luxiang, took the lead in sorting out the memorial service for Confucius (equivalent to the current official document report) and organizing the memorial service for Confucius.

In view of these three things, in order to remember the political achievements of the three Lv Xiang, crowdfunding monuments were made into "Yiying Monument", "Liying Monument" and "Shi Chenbei", which are equivalent to the current official documents, printed on A4 paper by computer, and reported for the record in the form of red-headed documents, or reported for publicity. These three monuments are currently stored in the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong Province.

Compared with the first two monuments, Shi Chenbei described the life of Confucius. Kirin appeared as soon as Confucius was born. In his later years, when he learned that Kirin had been killed, Confucius wrote his last words and died soon. Confucius' main purpose is to carry forward the rule of virtue, and Kirin is an auspicious thing or symbol of Confucius' thought of rule of virtue.

The preservation of these three monuments, from the political level, enables the Chinese nation to preserve and inherit the idea of respecting Confucius and exercising integrity.

From the perspective of calligraphy, calligraphy critics in past dynasties called it Three Monuments, saying that beginners should start with Yi Ying Monument, and learn from both Li Monument and Shi Chenbei. He called the Yiying Monument "the door to benefit after opening", which is thicker, more elegant and solemn than the fine-lined, vertical and horizontal monuments.

I think the ritual monument belongs to the small three-style, catching up with Pan and starting from the monument.

The representative figures of the Three Monuments are selected and combined into a four-foot folio. The first column is "Yi Ying Monument", the second column is "Li Monument", and the third column is "Shi Chenbei", which is attached for study and retention.
