He graduated from the High School Affiliated to Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1961 and graduated from the postgraduate class of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1980. He once taught in the Chinese Painting Department of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts and stayed at the school to teach in the Chinese Painting Department of the Academy. 2 Zhao Meilin, also known as Weitai, is a national senior artist. Born in Shuyang, Jiangsu Province in 1947. He is currently a director of the Forbidden City Calligraphy and Painting Art Association of the Palace Museum, a director of the Art Committee of the Chinese Calligraphy Art Research Institute, a member of the Art Committee of the China Public Relations Association, and the honorary president of Nanjing Jinling Painting and Calligraphy Academy.
