Liangnong Town, Yuyao, is a small town that does not leave much impression on tourists at first. However, when you come here, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that there is a listed city hidden above the town. This is the Wugui Tower, a national cultural heritage site.

So what is Wugui Tower? Wugui Tower is also a library built by Huang Chengliang, a descendant of the Huang family in Liangnong, Yuyao, to collect books. It is said that Huang Dingyuan in the Huang family genealogy in the late Tang Dynasty settled in Liangnong. By the sixth generation, he gave birth to eight sons, among whom The five sons successively passed the imperial examination system. Because those who succeeded in the examination in the past became the "Toad Palace Winners", they were also called the "Five Gui", which made their family famous all over the world.

It can be seen that when Huang Chengliang built the library, he was already familiar with the story of the "Five Gui" in the Huang family genealogy. Taking advantage of the situation, the building was named Wugui Tower to express respect for the ancestors.

The courtyard on the east side is where the library is located. After entering the courtyard, you can clearly see that the library is a Qing Dynasty wooden building with a two-story and three-coupled wooden structure.

The "Wugui Tower" plaque in front of the main entrance was inscribed by Hu Qin, a great calligrapher of the Qing Dynasty. It can be seen that the font is strong, powerful and straight, and it looks very simple.

After passing through the main entrance, you enter the interior of Yuyao Wugui Tower. The lower floor is separated from the front and back by three bays. There are tables, chairs and other furniture in the front. It can be seen that it was once a place for lectures; the back hall This is where the stairs are located, from which you can ascend to the second floor.

The second floor is where Wugui Tower collects books. There are 24 bookcases. These bookcases contain more than 50,000 volumes of books at most. The books include rare ancient books, famous paintings, inscriptions, and nearly 100 volumes of inscriptions. Wood carving panel painting.

These collections of books are mainly in the "Book of Changes" category, among which "Analysis of Zhouyi", "Yushi Yi of Zhouyi", "Republication of Thirteen Classics", etc. are all very valuable ancient books .
