Construction of Liang Qing Temple

According to historical records, Liang Qing Temple was built in the Western Han Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago and expanded in the Tang Dynasty. It reached its peak in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. During Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty, Hongci ordered large-scale construction, including "Four Heavenly Kings Hall", "Daxiong Hall", "Tibetan Temple", Bell Tower and Drum Tower, all of which were carved with glazed tiles and painted columns. Liang Qing Temple has a long history, magnificent architecture, beautiful scenery and pleasant climate. Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Qianlong and Emperor Xianfeng all came to the temple to burn incense and worship Buddha. It also attracted many literati from past dynasties to visit the temple, leaving more than 60 inscriptions and poems. It is extremely valuable for studying history and calligraphy.
