Coup: Use notes to turn books you have read into spiritual wealth.
If you want to have a solid harvest after reading a book, you need to write reading notes skillfully and form a long-term habit.
Although writing reading notes is a waste of time and old-fashioned, it is also very effective.
How to take notes? I recommend three methods:
1, take notes directly in the book.
This method is simple and easy to operate, and is suitable for Xiaobai who just started taking notes.
Find out the key parts of the important contents in the book by crossing lines, marking numbers, indicating words, sticking notes, turning pages, etc., and write down your own thoughts or summaries beside the pages.
Although the book was "stained" in this way, the "reading notes" were also completed. Take notes where you feel important, and then only you can understand them, and a personal book is born.
2. Notes on "Wei Hotpot"
This is a method of reading notes shared by Japanese writer Kono Xuanzhi in How to Read a Book Effectively.
(Onion tuna chafing dish refers to tuna chafing dish made of onion, which is a Japanese special dish cooked with onion and tuna, in which onion is a side dish rather than a seasoning).
I used the method of reading notes.
Write down in your notebook:
The date of the reading notes, the title of the book, the author's name, the contents that are important to you (excerpts) and your thoughts on this article (comments) can all be indicated by "○", and only the articles that are important to you are excerpted.
The comment part can be represented by "△", which means writing subjective comments or touching your own thoughts.
Through excerpts and comments, we can promote and deepen our understanding of books.
3. Breathing readings
Reading is the same as breathing. If you just inhale or exhale, your body will feel wronged and uncomfortable. Only when the two complement each other can you achieve the rhythm of breathing.
Similarly, don't just "read" but also "write". To change the concept of reading, we should not just read, but "read for writing".
The first step of breathing reading: "one-line collection", only the most attractive fragments are extracted.
Don't memorize exciting paragraphs, record them when you extract them. It is best not to copy the whole paragraph intact, try to be short and concise, and control the contents of the excerpt within a few lines.
The second step of breathing reading: "one line is fine" and pick the most wonderful line.
In the reading set extracted from the "one-line set", find the favorite line that you can take a look at and mark it.
When reading, if you can keep the consciousness of exploring the "most valuable line", you won't feel that reading is too troublesome and painful. Let reading be like an exploration, just to experience the happiness of "meeting the line".
The third step of breathing reading: "a line of comments", recalling important paragraphs.
A line of comments can efficiently extract the necessary information, that is, the feelings of the "essence of one line" in the previous step. Why does this line sound * * *?
The fourth step of breathing reading: self-evaluation of reading footprint.
The author suggests that after reading 12 books, it should also be a part of good reading habits to evaluate the recent reading experience and regularly take stock of and review your favorite books.
Although reading and taking notes feel like a waste of time, it is also an effective way to really digest the contents of the book and make it your own.
Coup 2: actively output and promote the internalization of ideas.
There is a saying: "If you want to know yourself, you must teach others first". Therefore, after reading a book, we always read for the purpose of output, which is more rewarding than aimless reading.
Conscious output can be divided into "speaking" and "writing".
